The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said detectives are conducting follow-up work at the home and in nearby areas. To support that work, officials confirmed the roadway in front of the residence has been restricted.

Camino Escalante is currently closed between Cerrada Nopal and East Camino El Ganado. The department said the temporary closure is in place to give investigators the space needed to continue their work.

Investigators are also examining new information in the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, officials confirmed.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos speaks to the press on February 3, 2026, about the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie.

Nancy was last seen at her home in the Catalina Foothills area north of Tucson on Saturday night, according to the Pima County Sheriff’s Department. She was dropped off shortly before 10 p.m. after having dinner with family members.

Authorities said her family reported her missing around noon Sunday after she failed to attend church.

During a Thursday news conference, investigators shared additional details about the timeline. A doorbell camera at Nancy’s home was disconnected around 1:45 a.m. Sunday. Shortly before 2:30 a.m., her pacemaker app indicated it had disconnected from her phone.

Sheriff Chris Nanos also confirmed that Nancy’s blood was found on the porch outside her home. Officials said no suspect or person of interest has been identified.

“Right now, we believe Nancy is still out there,” Nanos said. “We want her home.”

An FBI official told reporters Thursday that investigators are taking previously reported ransom notes seriously. Those notes were sent to several local and national media outlets.

Authorities emphasized that the investigation remains active and ongoing.
