A retired FBI special agent shared her thoughts about certain key dates in the Nancy Guthrie investigation.
During the March 19 episode of “Brian Entin Investigates,” NewsNation’s senior national correspondent Brian Entin discussed a second date investigators reportedly asked Nancy’s neighbors about earlier this month.
Initially, investigators asked for videos from January 11th, but later began probing January 24th as well. Entin noted that both days fell on weekends.
Retired FBI special agent Maureen O’Connell shared what stood out to her the most about this detail.
“Well, if I’m doing an op and I’m going to do it on a Saturday night, then I’m going to do dry runs on Saturday nights. I want to know what it’s like,” she explained.
Nancy Guthrie Update: Ex-FBI Agent Believes Suspects Were ‘Casing the Place’
O’Connell believes that Nancy Guthrie’s abductor cased the home in advance, observing details such as which lights were on and whether she stayed up late at night.
“So, I would say they were casing the place and doing a dry run for a Saturday evening hit,” the retired FBI agent added. “By hit, I mean you’re hitting the house, you’re going there, you know, doing this.”
Entin floated the idea that the suspect may be someone who has a job during the week, thus making a move on the weekend.
“They may, but they may not have a job at all,” O’Connell stressed. “Their job right now is to abduct her or whatever they’re planning on, whatever the plan was.”
More Reward Offered in Nancy Guthrie Search
Meanwhile, an additional reward was offered as the search for Nancy Guthrie hit its second month, according to NewsNation.
Michael Hupy, president of Milwaukee Crime Stoppers, is offering $100,000 of his own money for any information leading to the arrest of Nancy’s abductor.
“I was sad that an 84‑year‑old woman was abducted without her meds. Her heart monitor stopped,” Hupy told the outlet. “I didn’t think the crime scene was handled properly. They didn’t secure the crime scene in a way I thought they should. I don’t think they got all the information they could have from the crime scene.”
Aside from the reward money, Hupy also paid for a billboard in Tucson to help raise awareness about the Nancy Guthrie case.
“Some people will only come forward if they can do so anonymously, which they can do with Crime Stoppers,” he added. “Some people will only come forward if there’s a reward, which they can get from Crime Stoppers.”
