Nancy Guthrie Case: Expert Claims FBI Identified Suspect ‘Weeks Ago’

The search for Nancy Guthrie is continuing, with both the FBI and the Pima County Sheriff’s department investigating the disappearance of the mother of broadcaster Savannah Guthrie. Yet, there is seemingly little progress in identifying the suspect or suspects involved who are responsible for forcibly taken from her home in Tucson, Arizona at the start of February

Law enforcement has released some information about the suspect in an effort to locate him, including the publication of surveillance footage of the suspect but officials appear to be no closer to bringing him to justice.

However, one legal analyst believes that the police may actually have identified the suspect many weeks ago and have just not made that information public knowledge.

Speaking to the US arm of The Mirror, legal expert Chad D. Cummings explained why it is possible that the FBI already knows who took Nancy Guthrie from her home. According to Cummings, the law enforcement agency could well be keeping this information secret in order to build a strong enough case against him without tipping off the suspect.

“This case, to date, has been theater and optics management: The gloves. The thumbnails. The doorbell footage held for a week. The cameras captured people on the property in the days before the abduction,” Cummings said.

He continued, “Each release followed the same pattern: wait for public criticism to crest, then feed the press a development that sounds significant but leads nowhere. The question is why. At least three possibilities exist, in my opinion, and none of them are comforting.”

Instead, Cummings believes the likely explanation is that the FBI was able to learn who the suspect is some time ago but does not want to give away any information that could harm a future criminal case against him or force him into hiding. He added that “the FBI identified the suspect weeks ago and is building a federal case that requires time, grand jury proceedings, and sealed indictments.”

The legal expert concluded, saying, “If so, Nanos is prevaricating when he says no suspect has been identified — though perhaps he is being kept in the dark — and the drip feed of dead-end evidence exists to buy the bureau time without alerting the target. I believe this is the most likely scenario.”

Megyn Kelly Suggests Theory That Organized Crime Gang Could Be Involved

Journalist and legal expert Megyn Kelly has also suggested a different theory about the Nancy Guthrie case, indicating that she believes an organized criminal gang could be involved. While speaking on an episode of “The Megyn Kelly Show” with security experts James Hamilton and Will Geddes, Kelly explained what had convinced her about the idea.

“You’ve been saying on this program for a couple of weeks now that you’ve seen video of these South American criminals who were breaking into homes,” Kelly said. “This is my new number one theory. You’ve got me. Now that. I’ve seen the video of these guys, I totally get it.”

While showing videos of suspects from the organized crime group , Kelly revealed, “They look a lot like our perp. They have a hoodie sweatshirt on. They have black masks. They have gloves. They are pretty much covered head to toe.”
