While “How I Met Your Mother” star Josh Radnor has recently become a dad for the first time, his former colleague, Neil Patrick Harris, is already enjoying life with teenagers. In fact, Harris has just shared rare photos of himself, his husband David Burtka, and their 15-year-old twins Harper Grace and Gideon Scott. And they’re not just any pics. The family happened to be spending time together in Thailand.
Harris’ Family Spent Spring Break in Bangkok
“Thailand Spring Break, Pt. 1: Bangkok,” Harris wrote in the caption of his March 26 Instagram post. “Our first time in Thailand, too many singular experiences to name them all.”
The star shared a few “highlights,” including visiting the Wat Phra Kaew Buddhist temple, eating “Michelin-starred street food at Jay Fai (she’s 81 and cooks everything herself!),” seeing the reclining Buddha at Wat Po and enjoying a “date night drag show.”
In the photos, the family of four can be seen exploring their gorgeous surroundings and posing at various landmarks.
Harris added, “More pics soon. We’ve only just begun. Thailand is remarkable! ❤️”
The Star Shares Glimpses of His Twins on Special Occasions
Although Harris tends to keep the majority of his personal life rather private, he does give fans a look at his family on special occasions. For instance, the four enjoy annual coordinated Halloween costumes, and the star shares updates on Harper and Gideon when they celebrate their birthday.
On October 12, 2023, Harris posted photos of the twins (see above), writing, “And, just like that, they’re teenagers. Happy birthday, Harper and Gideon. You are the lights of my life. I can’t wait to watch you want nothing to do with me, and I promise I’ll be with you through all of it. Just, wow.”
Harris also marked a milestone on October 12, 2020, again sharing a photo of his daughter and son, writing, “Double Digits! Today, Harper and Gideon turn ten years old.”
“Ten years! This last decade has absolutely whizzed by — and I’ve loved it,” he continued. “I’ve never felt more tired and broken down, nor more awake and alive. My parenting skills are both terrible and amazing. Having children makes you grow in a thousand different directions, and I am just so thankful to my kids for all of it (and to [Burtka] for his unstoppable, handsome, tireless devotion and commitment to being a parent).”
Finally, Harris finished his message by adding, “Kind, smart, clever, hilarious, savvy, intuitive, ingenious — they are my absolute prides and joys. I love them with every ounce of my being. #grateful”
