The “How I Met Your Mother” family just got a little bigger. That’s because one of the show’s stars, Josh Radnor, 51, and his wife, Jordana Jacobs — who he married in January 2024 — have just welcomed their first child into the world.
Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, February 4, to share the news, Radnor added a caption, writing, “So my wife and I had a baby a few months ago (!!)”
Radnor also included a trio of photos featuring the baby boy, with one pic showing the star holding his son close to his face. The second pic shows the little one sleeping on Radnor’s guitar as the new father tunes the instrument, while the third shot shows Jacobs in a hospital bed as she holds the tiny bundle of joy.
Josh Revealed What Life Has Been Like with the New Baby
Radnor continued his Instagram caption by revealing some tidbits about life with his son.
“Here’s what we know so far: His smile lights up the room,” Radnor wrote. “He’s super observant and thoughtful. He gets hypnotized when I play him songs on the guitar. He thinks the word ‘baba ghanoush’ is hysterical. He’s a total delight and Jordana and I are thrilled he’s here.”
The actor added, “Thanks for all the kind words from @howwemadeyourmother listeners (I dropped the news a few episodes back on the podcast.)”
“Sending love to all my fellow parents of newborns out there,” he continued. “What a wild, beautiful, exhausting, heart-opening initiation. So grateful.”

When Radnor hopped onto social media to share the baby news, plenty of his followers left comments to congratulate the actor and his wife.
“Oh Josh! Congratulations 💞💞💞❣️❣️❣️,” one person wrote.
Another person left a message, saying, “Awwww! Y’all will make amazing parents I’m sure. 🎉”
“I’m so happy for you!!! It’s a little angel in this world 🖤 So much love for both of you,” a third person wrote.
Someone else added, “What a beautiful baby and family! Congrats and wishing you and your wife the very best in this new chapter!”

One of the “How I Met Your Mother’ creators, Craig Thomas, wrote, “To quote a TV show we both like: ‘Love is the best thing we do’ — congrats to you all and the pure love in these pics!”
