As the search for Nancy Guthrie reaches its 10th day, authorities are pressing forward with expanded forensic work in Arizona amid fresh developments.
Here’s the latest update as the investigation continues.
What DNA Collection Could Mean for the Nancy Guthrie Investigation
NBC/GettyAuthorities have collected DNA samples from individuals who worked at her Tucson home, including a landscaper and a pool cleaner, Fox News Digital reported.
Retired Las Vegas police lieutenant Randy Sutton said the step suggests investigators recovered biological evidence at the property. “Now they’re going to be comparing that DNA to either eliminate individuals or obtain information about them,” Sutton said.
Investigators continue to describe the home as a crime scene as they pursue multiple leads. No suspects have been publicly identified.
Surveillance Image Could Be Released as Search Intensifies
Authorities are expected to release a surveillance image connected to the investigation as early as Tuesday afternoon, according to NBC News reporter Tom Winter.
As per CNN, two senior law enforcement officials said the image is linked to the apparent abduction of Nancy, the 84-year-old mother of Savannah Guthrie.
The FBI confirmed that a 24-hour command post is now operating in Tucson, with agents and analysts working continuously on the case. Additional personnel from field offices nationwide have been deployed as officials continue to seek public assistance.
“For more than a week, FBI agents, analysts, and professional staff have worked around the clock to reunite Nancy Guthrie with her family,” FBI spokesperson Connor Hagan said Monday, as reported by People.
Greg Gutfeld Weighs In on Polygraphs and Ransom Claims
NBCUniversalFox News personality Greg Gutfeld addressed the case on his show Monday, questioning several aspects of the investigation. He suggested that members of Nancy’s family, including Savannah, could consider voluntary polygraph tests.
Gutfeld said the case “doesn’t make sense” and argued that lie detector tests could help quiet speculation surrounding family involvement. He also cast doubt on the authenticity of alleged ransom notes demanding millions in Bitcoin.
“If you really want to get the money, you don’t go to TMZ,” Gutfeld said, describing the demands as “a red herring.”
Guthrie Family Pleas Continue as FBI Confirms No Contact With Kidnappers
NBCUniversalA purported ransom note demanded $6 million by a Monday deadline and included a threat against Nancy’s life. The FBI said it is not aware of any direct communication between the family and those believed to be responsible.
Savannah shared another video appeal this week, saying her family believes Nancy is “still out there” and calling the situation “another week of this nightmare.”
In an earlier message, she described the moment as “an hour of desperation” while urging the public to report any suspicious activity.
Authorities continue to investigate the disappearance as an apparent abduction.
The FBI has offered a $50,000 reward and rolled out billboard alerts across Arizona and neighboring states as search efforts intensify. Nancy was last seen at her Tucson home on January 31.
As of publication, no verified proof of life has been released, and the search for Nancy remains ongoing.
