“TODAY” bosses reportedly beefed up security at the NBC morning show’s studio in New York City following the abduction of Savannah Guthrie’s mother, Nancy Guthrie.
According to The U.S. Sun, the network took the step out of an “abundance of caution” to protect the health and safety of its “Today” talent and crew.
“Things are tense at the studio, and that as a result, NBC has stepped up security for on-air talent,” the source told the outlet. “NBC has partnered with the NYPD to make sure their staff remains safe, out of an abundance of caution.”
The outlet also reported that both cops and private security are stationed at the midtown studio and offices.
On Sunday, February, “Today” host Savannah’s mother, Nancy, was reported missing from her Tucson, Arizona home. Authorities believe the 84-year-old was abducted by force.
