‘Big Brother 28’: How Drew Is Connected to a Controversial Winner

Fans of “Big Brother” sometimes interact with former houseguests before they play the game themselves. Drew Campbell is competing for the $750,000 prize on “Big Brother 28.” A winner revealed that he knows Campbell’s dad because of music.

Dick “Evel Dick” Donato posted a picture of himself and a younger Campbell at the Lincoln Memorial on Instagram on August 3. “I exchanged a couple emails with Buzz, Drew’s dad,” explained the caption. “He’s a very well known guitar player in the Rockabilly scene. We have friends in common and have crossed paths many times over the years.”

His father, Buzz Campbell, has played with Lee Rocker, Slim Jim Phantom, and Brian Setzer. “He seems like a pretty cool guy,” Donato’s caption continued. “The music on this post is him. He’s also an OG BB fan, watching from the start… He knows Drew is in trouble & doesn’t know it yet. Hopefully Drew makes it through this week and Lyric goes home.”

Campbell’s Instagram account responded to the post. “Can confirm this is real!” read the comment. Donato won “Big Brother 8” and is controversial because he argued with other houseguests.

Why Julie Chen Moonves Mentioned Dick Donato on ‘Big Brother 28’

Jason De Puy became the house target in season 28. Kamu Kirk was Head of Household and called Puy out for lying to him about their agreement to use the Power of Veto the way the HOH wanted. Kirk found out he promised the nominees the same thing.

Puy defended himself, saying he was only playing the game. He was up against a large alliance called The Toolshed, which he called out. The “RuPaul’s Drag Race” alum asked why he was the only one being punished for playing the game.

He got his revenge on Kirk the next day by banging a teapot with a wooden spoon. Puy alerted Kirk when other houseguests talked and pointed out that other houseguests were playing Big Brother.

Puy was evicted, and Julie Chen Moonves greeted him with a teapot and a wooden spoon. She mentioned that Donato and Josh Martinez loudly annoyed their fellow houseguests before him.

Donato wasn’t happy about this. He posted a picture of Martinez crying on Instagram. “Being mentioned on Big Brother a couple times this week….” read the caption. “To be honest, being mentioned in the same breath as Josh Martinez, I’d rather not be mentioned at all. That big, dopey, Baby Huey lookin’ cry baby mother [expletive]… smh.]

Donato banged a pot with a wooden spoon to wake up houseguests. He then insulted them. This was a strategy to move the target off his daughter, Daniele Briones. The “Big Brother” winner did the same thing as a special guest in season 9.

Josh Martinez worked closely with returning player Paul Abrahamian during “Big Brother 19.” He would antagonize other houseguests by banging pans together. It worked for him because he won the season.

Campbell started the season well-liked and part of powerful alliances. His game looks very different from Donato’s.
