“Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Bronwyn Newport responded to the “identity theft” and “fraud” allegations that began to circulate online during the sixth episode of Season 6.
The Truth Behind the Shocking Rumors
“There’s two separate things happening here,” Bronwyn said to a producer during one of her confessionals. “There are mistakes I made in college. We’re talking 20 years ago. I think I had an eviction notice after I left BYU, and I had to pay it later.”
Bronwyn continued to explain, “and then they’re saying that I allegedly committed crimes, current day, in the last year or so. Identity theft, grand theft, fraud, all of those are things listed under that penal code.”
The “RHOSLC” star was only legally allowed to share so much about the latter allegations, but she was able to clarify that, “what actually happened was almost 10 years ago, nothing recent,” Bronwyn said. “But it’s been a case that was dismissed and then later sealed, and I really, legally, can’t talk about what my involvement is in that.”
Who Betrayed Bronwyn & Todd?
In the wake of all the rumors about her past legal troubles, Bronwyn and her husband Todd Bradley sat down to discuss how to best handle the “ridiculous headlines” that were going around.
“You know this lying…online in the press affects all of us, personally and professionally,” said Todd, referencing his career as a successful software and tech executive.
“I know this is gonna cause a problem for you at work, so I’m sorry about that ’cause I know it’s gotta be a concern for you,” Bronwyn said. “I know that my name next to any of these words reflects poorly on you, and you need to be seen as someone who is trustworthy and beyond reproach.”
Since both Todd and Bronwyn suspect that fellow housewife Lisa Barlow was involved in the reports suddenly surfacing, he had sent her a text message suggesting that she back out of the upcoming “RHOSLC” cast charter aboard a yacht with Captain Jason Chambers and the “Below Deck Down Under” crew.
“It’s unclear to me why you wanna go spend time with these people, why you wanna spend time with Lisa, why you wanna fly 18 hours to be in the same room with someone that continually lies about you, lies about me, lied about Gwen,” Todd said, referencing Bronwyn’s young daughter. “I struggle to understand why you’d do that.”
“A tiger can’t change its stripes. She’s not gonna change. I don’t know why you get in the gutter with her,” Todd said about Lisa. “You just get down in the gutter and muck around with slime.”
“If you decide to go, I got it; you’re a big girl, grown woman, I understand,” Todd concluded. “But don’t come home complaining that you and Lisa got into a fight, because I assume it’s gonna happen. You’re setting yourself up for that. It’s on you.”
In a recent interview with Us Weekly that Bronwyn shared on her Instagram, she explained why Todd has taken a step back from being on camera.
Someone should turn the tables on Lisa. Spread nasty rumors about her to tabloids see how she likes it! Her nasty rumor spreading needs to stop before she destroys someone’s life. Not that she would care!
Lisa is a low lying witch, with a capital B. She’s unhappy so she wants to go after certain people & make their lives miserable. Todd is right…….she’s slime that crawls around in the gutter. Get rid of her PLEASE. She’s ugly, boring & irrelevant & brief nothing but hostility to this show.
Bronwyn is so sketchy. She has a glib explanation (which never makes ay actual sense) for every bad thing attributed to her actions. No accountability, that’s for sure.
