“Real Housewives” star Teresa Giudice had no idea just how hard it would be to participate alongside her daughter, Gia Giudice, on season 4 of Fox’s “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.” Ultimately, she became the second person, behind “The Valley’s” Brittany Cartwright, to bow out of the grueling reality TV show.
Teresa withdrew from the show before she could see her daughter’s boxing match, but surprisingly, she later told Decider that her reasons for leaving the show weren’t her biggest regret.
Teresa Giudice Reveals Her Biggest Regret Before Participating in ‘Special Forces’
GettyTeresa Giudice made the tough decision to withdraw from “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test” season 4 after she refused to watch her eldest daughter, Gia Giudice, participate in a boxing match. Despite being one of the duos in this season, Gia decided to stay with her remaining recruits, leaving her mom to pack her things and head home.
In her interview with Decider, Teresa admitted that her biggest regret wasn’t about stepping away to avoid seeing her daughter take a few hits. In fact, the “Real Housewives” icon shared that she wished she had been better prepared for the show back at home, especially when they sent her combat boots and told her to practice walking with a weighted vest.
“They sent our boots to us ahead of time, and they said to break them in. And then they said to walk around with a weighted vest. I didn’t do that part. I should’ve done that part because our backpacks weighed 30 pounds. It was no joke. Our backpacks were 30 pounds heavy,” she shared.
Despite Teresa being the second recruit to go home, she told Decider that the biggest thing she learned about herself is that she “could conquer anything now.”
Giudice ‘Cried’ Until Her Daughter Came Back Home
In her interview with Decider, Teresa admitted that she “cried until” her daughter, Gia, came back home. While it was tough to withdraw from the competition over her daughter, it was even tougher to leave Morocco without her.
“We were there days before. Gia and I went earlier, so I cried until Gia came home. I cried. Louie [Ruelas] was like, “What’s wrong with you?” He was like, “You’re so different. What happened?” I was like, “I miss my child. I just want to make sure she’s okay.” I was upset until she came home,” she shared.
In a chat with Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea,” Teresa revealed that she initially planned to pass on the show until she learned she and Gia would get to compete as a mother-daughter duo. Though it was a daunting decision, it was an opportunity they couldn’t resist.
“I have to do it with my daughter, it’s something we’ll always remember,” the Housewife shared.
