‘Storage Wars’ Stars Share Emotional Messages After Darrell Sheets’ Passing

Brandi Passante is speaking out with a deeply personal message following the death of her longtime co-star Darrell Sheets.

Sheets, best known for his role on “Storage Wars,” died on Monday, April 22 in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, at the age of 67.

Passante Had a Heartbreaking Statement

Authorities confirmed he was found at a residence with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. An investigation is ongoing.

In the wake of the heartbreaking news, Passante took to Instagram to share her grief — and to offer support to others who may be struggling.

“I’m at a loss for words! I’ve known Darrel [sic] Sheets for many years. I’m just so very sorry, to hear the circumstances of his passing. My heart hurts for Brandon, Zoe, and Kimber,” she wrote.

Her message became even more emotional as she revealed her own connection to similar loss.

“I unfortunately lost a parent and a brother to similar situations,” Passante continued. “I would like to say to everyone, if you are struggling, if you feel hopeless or like no one cares. I assure you they do!! You are not alone.”

Alongside a carousel of photos, Passante urged people to seek help and not suffer in silence.

“Please reach out for help,” she added. “You are not taking your pain away, you are transferring it to someone else. The grief from suicide is endless. There is always help… You can Dial 988 on your phone to connect with a counselor and resources. Never suffer in silence!”

Sheets Was a Fan Favorite

Sheets was a staple of the hit A&E series, appearing in more than 160 episodes across 15 seasons.

Known as “The Gambler,” he built a reputation for taking big risks on storage lockers — often alongside his son, Brandon Sheets — and delivering memorable moments with his signature line about finding the “WOW factor.”

Following his passing, A&E released a statement honoring his legacy per Us Weekly. “We are saddened by the passing of a beloved member of our Storage Wars family, Darrell ‘The Gambler’ Sheets,” the network shared. “Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”

Other cast members also paid tribute.

Rene Nezhoda, who frequently competed with Sheets on the show, spoke candidly about their relationship and urged kindness online.

“I know Darrell would want something positive out of this,” Nezhoda said in a video. “Just cause you watch us on television doesn’t mean you know us … it doesn’t mean you know what we’re about. Also it doesn’t entitle you to bully somebody.”

Tributes Continue to Pour In

Meanwhile, Dan Dotson shared a simple but heartfelt tribute on behalf of the auctioneer community: “RIP Darrell Sheets. You’re in our hearts and minds. The world is going to miss you brother.”

Sheets is survived by his son Brandon and daughter Tiffany. He was previously married to Kimber Wuerfel.

As tributes continue to pour in, Passante’s message stands out as both a reflection of personal grief and a call for compassion — reminding others that even in the darkest moments, support is always within reach.
