A fan-favourite judge from “Dancing with the Stars” will try his luck on a new reality show.
Bruno Tonioli, 70, will be one of the contestants on the inaugural season of “The Mob,” which is coming soon to Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.
Of course, “Dancing with the Stars” is far from the only show Tonioli is associated with. He trained a team of contestants on “Dance War: Bruno vs. Carrie Ann,” and judged on the British shows “Strictly Come Dancing,” “Dance X,” and “Britain’s Got Talent” (per IMDb).
Tonioli also famously worked as a music video choreographer. Stars he has worked with include Elton John, the Rolling Stones, Tina Turner, Sting, and Freddie Mercury. He also danced in the 1983 video for Elton John’s “I’m Still Standing.”
However, his next move will see him transitioning from reality show authority figure to contestant.
Bruno Tonioli Will Join an Intriguing Lineup of Contestants
GettyPer Deadline, Bruno Tonioli will join a plethora of stars on “The Mob.” They come from the worlds of acting, music, reality television, and more.
Some of the celebrities joining him as contestants are “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star Demi Engemann, “RuPaul’s Drag Race” contestant Willam Belli, “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Joe Gorga, “Let’s Marry Harry” personality Harry Jowsey, “Selling Sunset” star Chelsea Lazkani, “Younger’s” Debi Mazar, “Love Overboard’s” Bella Palk, rapper Romeo, “Bachelor Nation” contestants, Maria Georgas and Shane Parton, and, perhaps most fittingly, “The Sopranos” actress Aida Turturro.
Deadline describes the show as follows: “The Mob sends a group of celebrities to a lavish Italian villa where they will shake down, hustle and whack their way to win up to $250,000 in cash prizes. Every episode, they will tackle mob movie-inspired jobs to survive. But every mob family needs a don, and whoever they choose will have absolute power — deciding who makes money, who stays, and who ultimately gets whacked. In a game where power demands absolute loyalty, can the don stay in control, or will the family rise up and overthrow them?”
Actress Parker Posey Will Host ‘The Mob’
Rather excitingly, actress Parker Posey will host “The Mob.”
The 57-year-old star is known for her roles on both the big and small screens. Her television credits include Netflix’s “Lost in Space,” HBO Max’s “The Staircase,” and HBO’s “The White Lotus.” Movie-wise, she’s appeared in the likes of 1993’s “Dazed and Confused,” 2004’s “Blade: Trinity,” and 2006’s “Superman Returns.” (per IMDb).
Hulu announced “The Mob” and Posey’s participation in a post on their Instagram account.
The caption on the announcement post reads, “A game of absolute power demands absolute loyalty. The Mob is coming soon to Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.”
The post features a 78-second video, narrated by Posey, confirming her as host. Additionally, it introduces the exciting star-studded lineup of contestants. The first celebrity shown is Bruno Tonioli, who’s unsurprisingly presented as the star attraction.
We can’t wait to see what “The Mob” has in store for us. We especially can’t wait to see how Tonioli performs in it.
With no release date yet confirmed, make sure you keep your eyes and ears peeled for more information.
