Michael Bublé Teams Up with HGTV Star for New Reality Show

Though “Property Brothers” star Drew Scott has appeared in countless HGTV shows with his twin brother Jonathan and music icon Michael Bublé has won “The Voice” twice as a coach, the longtime friends are teaming up for a new TV show that’s not about music or home improvement.

On May 27, 2026, Scott and Bublé announced that they’ve teamed up for a junior hockey docuseries called “Hometown Giants,” to premiere this fall.

Michael Bublé & Drew Scott Are Helping Teen Hockey Players Chase Their NHL Dreams

Produced by Scott Brothers Entertainment and Amazon MGM Studios, the series will follow Scott and Bublé as they “become joint owners of a junior hockey team” called the Vancouver Giants, according to Deadline. Both Canadian-born stars grew up as hockey lovers in Vancouver, so they’re pumped to help talented teen players chase their dreams of playing in the NFL.

Though Scott now lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two kids, Bublé splits his time between Argentina, where his wife is from, and a 12,000 square foot home in the Vancouver suburb of Burnaby that includes a basement hockey rink. The “Home” singer is a loud and proud hockey fan who’s been known to give hockey jerseys to contestants on “The Voice” who join his team.

During an appearance on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” in 2023, Scott joked, “He’s such a hockey freak, he actually dug out under his house and added a full-size hockey rink under his home. Who does that? And also, it’s not a valuable investment in your home. He’s never gonna get that money back!”

“Hometown Giants” will air on Prime Video Canada, according to Deadline, but there’s no word yet on whether it will also be available in the U.S. Brett Haynes, an executive with Amazon MGM Studios’ Canadian division, said in a statement that his team is “investing in creatives and formats that feel authentic to this country and have the potential to captivate audiences around the world.”

Drew Scott Joined Michael Bublé as a Team Co-Owner in 2023

The Vancouver Giants revealed in September 2023 that Scott had joined the team as a co-owner. The Western Hockey League announced at the time that with his investment, Scott would be one of six Giants team owner, including majority owner Ron Toigo and part owners Bublé, Lewis Bublé (Michael Bublé’s dad), Sultan Thiara, and talent agent Bruce Allen.

When news broke of him becoming a co-owner, Scott tweeted, “It’s always been a dream to join the ownership of a sports franchise. Thanks to Ron and Mike for bringing me into the fold with such an amazing team in my home town of Vancouver. Go Giants”

According to the Vancouver Sun, Bublé convinced Scott to come on board. Once his old friend had signed on the dotted line, Bublé said in a statement, “I love hockey so much, and it has been such a rewarding experience to be part of my favorite sport at a grassroots level. Drew brings a new level of excitement and visibility to the Giants. I’m excited to work alongside him as we continue to support our incredible city, the beautiful people, and the greatest game on earth.”

Scott told the Sports Business Journal why he was so pumped to become a co-owner in 2023, explaining, “I’ve always found a way with sports to try and bring kids together and build that community.”

“We want to make sure that the more interest there is in the team and in the play, the more ticket sales increase,” he continued. “The more attention there is on them, then there’s possibly more sponsorship opportunities. The more the revenue for the franchise grows, the more opportunities we have to give back to the program and what they do.”
