In 2018, when Grammy-winning crooner Michael Bublé built a mansion for his family across from his former elementary school in British Columbia, “The Voice” coach had one wild request: he wanted the basement to feature an ice rink and locker room.
Now, in a Rolex-produced documentary short about Bublé — released on December 23, 2025 — fans get a rare look inside the Canadian native’s massive home, including footage of his family enjoying the much-buzzed-about ice rink. You can watch “Rolex Presents Michael Bublé — Bringing It Home” below.
Michael Bublé Calls Indoor Ice Rink His ‘Oasis’
The 11-minute documentary, one of multiple films Rolex has produced about famous figures the luxury watch company sponsors, generated over 10 million views in less than a week. It features fascinating photos and videos from Bublé’s early days as a singer, details on the years he spent working on his dad’s fishing boat to make ends meet, and behind-the-scenes peeks at him performing.
One of the most compelling aspects of the film is the footage from inside his home in the Vancouver suburb of Burnaby, which is home base for Bublé and his wife, Argentine actress and model Luisana Lopilato, and their four children. According to the Vancouver Sun, the 12,000 square foot home was valued at $28 million in 2025.
Eight minutes into the documentary, Bublé is seen in full hockey gear — including a jersey with his name on the back — as he laces up his skates in a locker room.
“We are in the basement,” he tells the filmmakers, as he leads them around the corner to reveal a huge ice rink surrounded by framed hockey jerseys behind a glass wall. “This is kind of my oasis where I can come and escape and just chill out a little bit.”
While skating around and shooting the puck, Bublé, who is co-owner of the Vancouver Giants hockey team, continues, “I get to live out my childhood dreams here and pretend I got drafted so I can be an NHL player every single day.”
His family then joins him on the ice, all decked out in hockey gear, as he says, “Honestly, one of the great joys in my life is being able to come back to Burnaby because home is where the heart is, where my kids and my family are.”
HGTV’s Drew Scott Called Michael Bublé’s Ice Rink
The new Rolex documentary short provides one of the best looks at Bublé’s ice rinks, it was also featured in an October episode of actor Eugene Levy’s “The Reluctant Traveler,” when he and Bublé went head-to-head in a funny challenge to prove which of them was the “most” Canadian.
“That was the first thing that got built,” he told KFC Radio in 2023. “It literally was the Zamboni first and then the rest came in.”
During an interview on “The Tonight Show” in 2023, HGTV star Drew Scott — a fellow Canadian and a co-owner of the Vancouver Giants with Bublé — poked fun at his friend with host Jimmy Fallon.
“He’s such a hockey freak, he actually dug out under his house and added a full-size hockey rink under his home,” Scott said. “Who does that? And also, it’s not a valuable investment in your home. He’s never gonna get that money back.”
