‘Mormon Wives’ Set To Resume Production But Without Some Key Cast Members

Production on “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” season 5 might pick up soon. However, not everyone from the original cast will return.

After Whitney Leavitt formally announced her exit, other cast members are expected to follow. The reasons behind the potential exits aren’t immediately clear, but it seems unlikely that DadTok will be back when season 5 returns.

‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ Will Likely Continue Without DadTok

When SLOMW originally premiered, the wives were the sole stars of the show. As time went on, the husbands and partners started getting bigger roles.

During season 4, DadTok had a particularly large presence, much to fans’ dismay. According to TMZ, that seems likely to change when season 5 production picks back up.

However, the reasons behind DadTok’s rumored exit remain unclear.

“Production sources tell TMZ … some of the men have banded together and refused to return in a hardball demand for more money,” the outlet writes. “However, another source with direct knowledge tells us … it’s unlikely the men will return, but it isn’t their decision — instead, it’s producers who think there’s not enough bang for the buck, so to speak.”

Throughout season 4, DadTok proved to be wildly unpopular with fans online.

“They never should’ve been there… they were given waaaay [too] much screen time,” one fan wrote on Instagram, with many others readily agreeing.

At the very least, Taylor Frankie Paul’s ex, Dakota Mortensen, will no longer be on the show. After the infamous viral video leaked, authorities opened an investigation, and ABC canceled her season of “The Bachelorette.”

Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen now have restraining orders against each other, making filming together impossible. Taylor plans to return to the show in some capacity, though it’s not yet clear what kind of role she will play in season 5.

Conner & Whitney Leavitt Are Also Officially Out

Conner and Whitney Leavitt are also among the original “Mormon Wives” stars who won’t return to the show.

Over the past few seasons, the Leavitts played a limited role as they explored other opportunities. After Whitney competed on “Dancing With the Stars” and landed the leading role in “Chicago” on Broadway, she officially decided it was time to move on.

“You’re gonna want to sit down for this video. I am leaving ‘The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.’ Take a minute, take it in,” the mother of three shared in an Instagram video.

“Just to be very clear, I am finishing season five, so yes, I will be in that season, but also yes, it will be my last,” Whitney continued.

Although she often butted heads with her co-stars onscreen, many of them left kind and supportive comments.

“It has truly an honor watching you evolve as a business woman, a creative, and most of all, an individual🥹 Can’t wait to see what you do, love you Whit!💓” Miranda Hope wrote.

“You will be missed. Chase those dreams my girl. I’m excited to see your next chapter ✨” Taylor Frankie Paul added.

Fans expect to see “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” back on Hulu likely in late 2026.
