On the Sunday, October 5 episode of the ‘Strictly Come Dancing‘ results show, entrepreneur Thomas Skinner became the first celebrity eliminated from series 23.
Commenting on an post on the official ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ Instagram page, Skinner said he was “gutted” to be leaving the show. However, that has paled into insignificance, as his two of his three children were rushed to hospital on Wednesday, October 8.
In a post on his X account that began with a somewhat understandable expletive, Skinner wrote, “My twins have spent all night in the hospital. Thank you to the wonderful NHS for looking after them. Back home with them now. They’ve both now had 2 fits each and it is so so scary.”
Fans Rally to Support ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ Star Skinner
It’s wonderful to know that Skinner’s twin girls, Roma and Darla, are home and well after their health scare. They were born in June 2023, meaning they’re both just over two years of age.
Skinner’s followers were quick to offer him support after he informed them of the situation.
One follower wrote, “So sorry to hear that your beautiful girls have been unwell. I’m glad that the NHS were able to make them well enough to return home. Sending you all hugs xx.”
Another said, “Praying their both alright mate, scary time, glad your all back safe home now though, that’s the important thing.”
Someone else commented, “Nothing else matters when this happens. Nothing at all. Best wishes Tom, you’re a good family man.”
Finally, one kind-hearted individual in a similar predicament said, “I’m feeling your pain! My family is going through hell, too! Our daughter is suffering from seizures. It is absolutely heartbreaking! If you need to talk/vent, ask questions, I’m always here, Tom! Sending all our love to you and your family! ❤️ #Support.”
Frankly, it was nice to see such a wholesome reaction to Skinner’s post, in a world where people can be so cruel online. Skinner has recently endured abuse due to his political stance and some negative stories about him that have been published.
Roma and Darla Are Already Stars
Little Roma and Darla have already started their journey towards becoming stars in their own right,
As per The Sun, Skinner signed them up to a talent agency just days after they were born — and they’ve already landed their first roles in a major Hollywood production.
Before they were even a year old, they filmed scenes for superstar George Clooney’s upcoming coming-of-age comedy-drama ‘Jay Kelly.’
Directed by Noah Baumbach of ‘The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou’ and ‘Frances Ha’ fame, the movie — which also stars the likes of Adam Sandler, Laura Dern, and Billy Crudup in its impressive ensemble cast — hits theaters on November 14.
In one scene, Clooney’s character — the eponymous Jay Kelly, an actor — cradles Skinner’s twins as he gets out of a taxi.
It remains to be seen if it’s the start of a glittering Hollywood career for the two Skinner girls, but we wish them all the best on their journey — and, of course, we hope they stay healthy.
