The finely polished performances of most (though, admittedly not all) of the contestants and professional dancers on ‘Strictly Come Dancing‘ might lead you to believe the whole thing is plain sailing.
However, preparation for the live Saturday night routines can actually be a very bumpy ride, full of everything from hilarity to disastrous moments.
Never was that notion more clear than in a blooper reel released on the show’s official Instagram account.
‘Nobody Said It Was Easy’ on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’
In the 92-second video, showing the couples’ preparation for week 2 of ‘Strictly Come Dancing,’ every participant features at some point.
From Stefan Dennis describing himself as “a train wreck” and Vicky Pattison having to apologise for yawning, to Harry Aikines-Aryeetey admitting he “doesn’t do well with circles” and Vito Coppola dragging Ellie Goldstein around the dancefloor like a vacuum cleaner, it’s a veritable plethora of hilarity.
One of the video’s funniest moments involves an interaction between former rugby star Chris Robshaw and his professional partner Nadiya Bychkova. Having taught Robshaw part of their routine, Bychkova asks, “Make sense?” He replies, “Yeah.” She suspiciously asks, “Does it?” He replies, “Hmmmmm.”
Another funny moment sees social media personality George Clarke and his partner Alexis Warr mimicking styles of pasta with dance poses. At different moments, the pair shout, “Linguini!” “Fusilli!” and “Penne!” The latter came with a funny edit of Warr’s face on a piece of penne pasta.
In another clip, ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional Kai Widdrington humorously mocks Vicky Pattison’s gurning expressions as she takes a drink of water.
At one point, professional Katya Jones asks actor Lewis Cope, “It’s not easy, is it?” That prompts Cope to reply by singing the Coldplay line, “Nobody said it was easy!”
Fans Loved the ‘Extremely Funny’ Bloopers Reel

The video’s comments were teeming with fans — and participants in this year’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ — loving the bloopers reel.
One user wrote, “I won’t get tired of the bloopers cause they are extremely funny.”
Another commented, “Whahahahaha 😂😂😂😂😂love it.”
Someone else said, “I love Kai Mocking Vicky 😂😂😂😂😂.”
Lots of viewers loved the Alexis Warr penne pasta edit, with one writing, “The penne edit got me 😂😂.”
‘Strictly Come Dancing’ professional Nadiya Bychkova chimed in with some laughter, posting, “😂😂😂,” as did entrepreneur Thomas Skinner, who’s a contestant on this year’s show. He posted, “😂😂😂😂.”
The post was all in good fun and was an eye-opening look behind the scenes of the show.
Episode 3 of series 23 of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ airs this Saturday, October 4, at 18:20 p.m. on BBC One. Here’s hoping for no bloopers on the live show!
