“The Young and the Restless” fan favorite Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki) hit another significant milestone with the show. Scott marked her 47th anniversary of playing Nikki Newman on February 20, and the CBS soap celebrated her with a classic moment.
Melody Thomas Scott Throwback Is One for the Books
The official Instagram account for “The Young and the Restless” marked Scott’s anniversary with a classic clip of Nikki with her sister, Casey (Roberta Leighton), from Scott’s early days on the show.
It’s the scene where Casey confronts Nikki about her new job after she learned that Nikki was a stripper. The moment was a reminder of just how far Nikki and Scott have come over the last four decades.
Scott hit out of the park when she started in 1979 and continues to do so today. The CBS soap acknowledged the beloved actress’ talent in the caption to acknowledge her anniversary.
“Here’s to 47 years of unforgettable stories and remarkable talent with @melodythomassco, and we can’t wait to see what’s in store with 48. Happy Anniversary Melody! 🎊 #YR,” read the caption.
One of Scott’s longtime friends and co-stars, Tracey Bregman (Lauren), showed up in the comments with a sweet message to the actress. “Happy Anniversary my friend! What a treasure you are and sooo much fun to work with!! @melodythomassco,” Bregman wrote.
“Beyond the Gates” star Karla Mosley (Dani) left Scott a message saying, “Wow – congratulations @melodythomassco.”
Several fans responded to the Instagram post celebrating Scott by sharing how she and “The Young and the Restless” have impacted their lives.
“My mom named me Kacey after Nikki’s sister, and my middle name is Nicole 😂. I am a Y&R baby for sure,” shared a fan. One fan stated, “I tell everyone I’ve known Victor and Nicki my whole life. All my grandparents and babysitters watched Y&R. I turn 48 this weekend.”
The beloved actress has spent nearly five decades on the CBS soap and a good portion of that as part of the supercouple Nikki and Victor (Eric Braeden). They are one of the most iconic couples in soap history and are still giving fans something to talk about decades later.
Soap Star Melody Thomas Scott Scores Major Career Achievement
Last July, it was announced that Scott would receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this year. The soap icon learned the news while on the set of “The Young and the Restless.”
Scott got emotional, calling the achievement “exciting,” and admitted that acting was the only thing she ever wanted to do, even as a child. She even shared a beautiful story about walking down the Hollywood Walk of Fame with her grandma when she was a little girl.
As of this writing, a date for Scott’s Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony has not been announced.
