Jeff Probst is mixing things up again for the remaining castaways on “Survivor” season 49. Yes, after a tribe swap two weeks ago formed two new tribes, it looks like things are changing again tonight on “Survivor” 2025.
The two tribes didn’t last long, as the two tribes will become three tribes tonight on “Survivor.” There won’t be too much room to hide, as each tribe will have only four members when they head to a new Immunity Challenge on “Survivor” 2025. Time for another week of challenges and backstabbing, but who gets voted off “Survivor” 49 tonight? Find out during our “Survivor” season 49 live recap below!
‘The Devil’s Shoes’ on ‘Survivor’
Tonight’s episode of “Survivor” 2025 is titled “The Devil’s Shoes.” While things seem to be the old Uli versus the old Hina, as the sneak peek from CBS hints at, this new twist in the game is may throw a wrench into all of that.
With three tribes again, and only four members on each tribe, things could truly get all mixed up tonight. How do the castaways get divided when Jeff tells them to drop their buffs, yet again? Daggers Are Thrown
Hina comes back from Tribal Council from last week. They are feeling Uli strong, as they voted off the old Hina members (Matt and Jason) from the tribe. So, they are thinking it’s old Uli versus old Hina moving forward, and daggers are thrown.
They are hoping for a merge and they can be a strong unit together. However, Savannah said she wants Jawan gone for using her stuff, so the rift is already there!
Drop Those Buffs, Again!
The castaways arrive with Jeff Probst, and it’s now Day 11. The heat is kicking their butt. They are in for a shocker, as we are dropping our buffs again. However, it’s not a merge, but we are doing a tribe swap! We are going back to three tribes, with four members in each tribe. The new tribes:
- Yellow (Hina) – MC, Sophi, Rizo, and Savannah
- Red (Uli) – Christina, Alex, Nate, and Sophie
- Blue (Kele) – Steven, Shannon, Sage, and Jawan
During the tribe swap, Christina seems to be having a panic attack. She is having issues and has to sit down. Medics come in to check her out. She said she was feeling overwhelmed and missing her family, but is ready to continue.
Reward Challenge on ‘Survivor’ 49
For this first challenge, as their new tribes, they will move a cart along a course and collect sandbags along the way. They will have discs to collect, which they will use at the end to knock over four targets.
The first two tribes to knock all four down will win a reward. The first-place tribe will get grilled cheese sandwiches, potato chips, iced tea, and chocolate brownies. The second-place tribe will get grilled cheese sandwiches. The tribe that doesn’t finish will get nothing.
We have Kele and Hina back at the targets first. Rizo kills it and knocks over all four targets pretty quickly, as Hina wins this challenge (and Sophi gets her first challenge win of the season). Now we have Hele and Uli battling it out for second place. Uli came from behind and knocked over all four targets first, as they got second place and the grilled cheese sandwiches. Nothing for Kele on this one.
Recharged & Reenergized
On Hina, they are enjoying their reward. Sophi, Savannah, and Rizo were all on the same tribe, so MC is feeling left out. She also has the Beware Advantage, so if they lose, then she has to find it or lose her vote. However, she knows that Rizo has an idol, as Sage told them. She uses that against Rizo to try and earn favor with him, as she says everyone knows.
On Uli, they are enjoying their sandwiches. Nate feels like he was on top before, but now on the bottom. He tries to tell them lies and what he thinks they want to hear. However, they all know that Nate is old Uli strong and said they’ll vote him out if they lose.
For Kele, the chickens got out, so it’s a mad hunt to wrangle them back up. Meanwhile, Steven and Jawan are bonding over dad jokes and nerd stuff. Steven is feeling good about that, but Jawan talks with Shannon, and he says they are old Hina strong.
Change in Plans
The tribes are shifting, and we haven’t even gone to an Immunity Challenge. For Uli, Christina wants to use Sophie as a decoy to make Nate feel safe. However, this doesn’t sit well with Sophie, and she wants to team up with Alex, be his new Sophie, and vote out Christina.
On Kele, Sage and Shannon are on the same tribe, yet again. Shannon is trying to cement their alliance. However, Sage is not a fan of her and wants her gone. It’s so funny to watch.
On Hina, Rizo is trying to become a “Survivor” legend and go out and catch some fish. He is struggling just to walk out into the water because of the flippers. He’s such a mess, but it’s too funny. You gotta love Rizo, right? No luck with fishing, so he comes back and they decide to go out looking for an advantage while MC is gone.
Sophi ends up finding an advantage and doesn’t tell Savannah or Rizo she found it. She reads it, and it’s a Knowledge Is Power advantage, which allows her to ask anyone at Tribal Council if they have an advantage. If they do, she gets it. She knows Rizo has one, but he is an ally right now, so she can store it and see how the game plays out over the next couple of days.
Immunity Challenge on ‘Survivor’ 2025
For this challenge, they will race through some obstacles to retrieve bags of sticks and strings. They will then build a stick to release a ball. That ball will be used to go through a maze. The first two tribes to complete the maze will win immunity.
This was a close race, but Hina got the key pretty quickly, and they started working on the maze first. Christina is struggling to build her stick, as Uli has fallen far behind. Meanwhile, we have Hina and Kele both working on the maze. Christina finally got the key, as all three tribes are working on the maze now.
Rizo and Savannah get the ball in the hole for the maze, as Hina wins immunity. Kele gets close to the inner circle, but they drop the ball and have to start over. Meanwhile, Nate and Sophie get it into the inner circle for Uli, and they land the ball, and their big comeback ends with a victory, as they also get immunity. It’s Hele heading to Tribal Council tonight.
Let the Talking Begin
We have Kele trying to decide who to vote out. It seems like Jawan, Sage, and Shannon should work together. Shannon seems to rub them all the wrong way. She wants to now work with Steven and vote out Jawan. Thinking of the merge, she thinks Steven can bring her more people to work with down the road than Jawan can.
Shannon shares this with Sage, and she acts like this is a great plan. However, Sage wants Shannon out, so she plans to get her out. The backstabbing is going on everywhere! Jawan is hesitant to turn on the original Uli tribe, even though Shannon has thrown shade at him.
Tribal Council on ‘Survivor’ Season 49
This is the first Tribal for Shannon, Sage, and Steven! Shannon definitely has an aura about her, just this confidence, or everyone likes my vibe that rubs me the wrong way. She has a smirk on her face the whole time. They are all going all over the place, so let’s just vote already, people!
Tonight’s Results: Jeff tallies the votes, and a 3-1 vote, Shannon has been voted off “Survivor” season 49!
