‘Act One of a Horror Film’ on ‘Survivor’ 2025
For tonight’s premiere, the episode is titled “Act One of a Horror Film.” The castaways will arrive on the islands of Fiji, greeted by Probst. The quest to win $1 million and be the sole survivor starts with a grueling marooning challenge for the tribes to earn essential camp supplies.
Then we will see castaways facing off with a huge reward on the line before heading to the season’s first Tribal Council. Who got eliminated on “Survivor” season 49 tonight? Find out in our “Survivor” live recap below.

New Tribes Arrive
The boats are on the way, and it’s time to meet the 18 new castaways! Of course, we have some very confident players, but will it help them in the game?
Three tribes this season: Kele (Blue), Hina (Yellow), and Uli (Red). Jeff greets the castaways, as Jason from Uli tells them that he was an alternate and found out 30 minutes before he was to leave that he was on this season. We find out Sage from Uli pees when nervous. Jake from Kele talks about his dad being diagnosed with glaucoma, so this could be the last season he can see, and he’s doing this for his dad.
First Test as Tribes
It’s time for the marooning challenge. The tribes will be working in pairs to gather crates. Once all the crates are gathered, the remaining pair will put the boxes together to form a puzzle. They will then climb up and use a stick to remove a mallet, which they will use to ring a bell. The first tribe to finish this challenge will get supplies for their tribe.
Hina is the first tribe to get back with all their puzzles, as we see Jason and Kristina working on the puzzle. They maintain the lead the entire challenge, as MC gets the mallet and smashes the bell, and Hina gets supplies back at their camp. Jeff sends them away with a map to their camp.
Uli and Hele will now compete for supplies for their tribes, as one castaway from each tribe will be taken away and return with possible supplies. Alex steps up for Hele, and Rizo steps up for Uli. They head out on a boat, but what will the challenge be? Their tribe members head out to their camps.
Meeting Your Tribe Members on ‘Survivor’ 2025
Hina is back at their camp first. We find out that Steven has hearing aids, which he was worried about. However, his tribe mates were very accepting and curious about them. Then we see Kristina is not a nature person and seems to hate all animals, so this should be fun for her.
The Kele Tribe arrives at their camp, and without any supplies, they are struggling to build a camp without a machete or even to eat without one. Sophi is trying to work those alliances already. She wants to be everyone’s friend and align herself with as many people as possible.
Over on Uli Tribe, they are feeling good about the tribe, and they are the feel-good tribe. However, two members are not being honest about their jobs. Savannah didn’t want people to know she used to work in the media, and Nate said he is a production assistant, but is actually a producer for Marvel movies. Shannon is a vibes/spiritual person and feels she has a connection to everyone.
Battle for Supplies
Rizo and Alex arrive at the challenge. They will race out and collect 10 coconuts with their tribe colors on them. Then they will crack them open to get puzzle pieces, which they will put together to find out where a wheel is located on the island. Once they find the wheel, attach it and turn it to raise their flag and win the challenge.
Alex is kicking butt on this challenge, as he gathers the coconuts way faster and finishes the puzzle quickly. Rizo is just starting on his puzzle as Alex goes to find the wheel, but he can’t find it. Rizo decides to use Alex’s puzzle to help figure out his. He still can’t figure it out, but it’s because he didn’t open one coconut. He finds it and finishes the puzzle, so he heads out to find the wheel.
Alex had the biggest lead, but failed at finding the wheel. Rizo gets that wheel and wins the challenge and supplies for his tribe, as he gets very emotional about the win. Alex is upset and frustrated after flopping his big lead.
Return of a Champion
Rizo comes back to the Uli Tribe, and he is beyond excited to come back a winner. He then gets emotional talking about his life and his parents. He definitely is proud of himself, and it’s cute to see.
Alex comes back to the Kele Tribe with no supplies, and he is worried about how this will affect his “Survivor” season 49 game. Jake then shares with Alex and Sophi that his wife is pregnant and he is missing his child’s birth.
Matt is feeling like the old guy over on Hina. However, he was a Boy Scout, and he has the outdoors in the bag. He said it will be hard to bite his tongue, though. Matt thinks this will help him become invaluable to his tribe.
Shoe Bandit on ‘Survivor’ 2025
Jake is going to be the shoe bandit for this season. He plans on hiding one left shoe from somebody every day on the Kele Tribe, to not only cause chaos but for his own fun. Meanwhile, Annie is going off on her own, and the tribe is getting suspicious. However, Alex talks with Annie about forming an alliance.
On Uli, Shannon leads them in meditation. Savannah is over the feel-good vibes and knows they have to cut people eventually. Shannon, Shannon, and Jawan form an alliance, but he said they need one more.
On Hina, they are having an all-love mentality, even though they have to stab each other in the back soon enough. The talk of alliances starts as Steven is working the crowd. His imposter syndrome takes over, as he is now starting to get worried if anyone truly likes him or if he belongs there.
Bromances and Dad Vibes
Now we get to see a bromance between Jake and Alex. Jake said they get along so good, but in a nonsexual way. Sophi has an alliance with them, but now she is jealous of how close they are. They add Jeremiah into the mix, so a strong four now, if Sophi can trust them.
Over on Uli, Nate is feeling like the old man and dad of the tribe. He wants to start working with people, so he talks with Savannah about working with her, and they talk about adding in Shannon and Jawan, so that could be their fourth member. Jawan is working on building a fire, which he said he’s been practicing for a year. However, he is struggling. He starts to lose it, which is concerning to Savannah.
First Immunity Challenge on ‘Survivor’ Season 49
The tribes arrive and time for the first Immunity Challenge of the season. For this challenge, the tribes will maneuver through contraptions to gather three large serpents. Once all three serpents are gathered, three of the tribe members will maneuver a ball through a mask and get it in the hole. The first two tribes to finish will get immunity. They will be playing for a reward also, as the first tribe to finish gets a massive tool kit. The second tribe to finish gets a smaller tool kit. The last-place tribe will head to Tribal Council.
Hina is first to get to the ball, then Uli joins them. Hele is way behind, but they get to the snake trap last. Hina works it out and wins this Immunity Challenge, and they are safe tonight. Uli makes it through, so they are safe tonight also. The Kele Tribe is headed to Tribal Council tonight.
Kele Tribe Discusses Things
After losing three challenges tonight, they said they need to get rid of a weaker player. It seems like they are set on Nicole being the one, but they will tell her that Annie is the target. However, Nicole is a financial crimes consultant, and she is working these people to see if they are telling the truth or not. If she gets any vibes, then she is playing that shot in the dark.
However, Annie thinks she would be next, so she wants to discuss things with Sophi. This makes Sophi start to think, as Annie is playing the game, and now Annie might be a target at Tribal Council tonight on “Survivor” 2025.
Tribal Council on ‘Survivor’ Season 49
Here we are, we have arrived at the first Tribal Council of season 49. It seems to be all about love and laughs to start this Tribal, but they do know they have to vote someone out of the game, right?
They said their focus is on getting out the weakest player since they are losing challenges. It’s between two people. Nicole starts getting worried.
Results: The votes have been cast, and the first person voted off “Survivor” season 49 is Nicole.
