Taylor Swift’s early life just got a new spotlight: a recent feature gives fans a rare look inside her childhood home in Pennsylvania, which reportedly cost about $1 million.
The current owner let Inside Edition get a look inside the stunning home.
The Georgian colonial-style house outside of Reading served as a backdrop for scenes in Swift’s “Lucky You” music video — and now, its charm is on full display for fans.
The house, now owned by a different family, still evokes the simplicity and warmth of Swift’s youth.
Architectural details like symmetrical windows, classic shutters, and a framed entryway speak to its traditional American design.
The connection between place and art feels full circle: where Swift once dreamed, her stories now live on screen.
Inside, the rooms are modest yet elegant.
Skylights, wood-trimmed doorways, and muted palettes hint at rural comfort rather than flashy luxury.
Though it’s no longer hers, the house remains a foundational piece of her origin tale — the spaces where dreams began, songs were imagined, and life’s earliest chapters unfolded.
There Is a Sweet Swift Touch That Remains
Outside of the home, there is a sweet touch of her time there.
In the cement are the initials “S, A, T, and A.” It represents herself, her dad Scott, mom Andrea, and her brother Austin.
The new owner of the home, Tracy Panase told the outlet that stories of the Swifts have been passed down from owner to owner.
“This was the room where Taylor learned to play guitar,” Panase told cameras. “Her mother, Andrea, liked her to practice above the kitchen so she could hear her while cooking.”
Filmed during her teenage years, the “Lucky You” video leaned heavily into intimate, home-grown visuals.
Swift’s Childhood
The “Bad Blood” singer was born on December 13, 1989, in West Reading, Pennsylvania.
Her father was a stockbroker for Merrill Lynch, while her mother was a mutual fund marketing executive.
Swift also spent a portion of her time on a Christmas tree farm in her youth. The 35-year-old previously briefly discussed it while speaking with Esquire in 2014.
“It was such a weird place to grow up,” she said at the time. “But it has cemented in me this unnatural level of excitement about fall and then the holiday season. My friends are so sick of me talking about autumn coming. They’re like, ‘What are you, an elf?'”
She also shared an adorable image of her time there back in December 2019.
She captioned it, “Here we are on said Xmas tree farm. And I just want to say that my parents are the real 90’s fashion icons. I have spoken.”
