Ever since Taylor Frankie Paul‘s season of “The Bachelorette” was scrapped by ABC last month, speculation about who would replace her has been in all-time high. But while the network still looks over their options, and deals with the messy aftermath, a “Bachelor” and “Bachelor in Paradise” alum is throwing her hat in the ring.
On Instagram, Annaliese Puccini pranked her followers for April Fools’ Day yesterday with a promo photo of her as the new series lead. Previously, Puccini competed in season 22 of “The Bachelor,” as well as season 5 and 6 of “Bachelor in Paradise.”
Annaliese Puccini Is Selling Herself as ‘The Bachelorette’
In the photo, Puccini is looking to the side with a sequined silver dress and silver rose in hand. “Your new Silver Bachelorette is Annaliese Puccini,” the text reads.
She also included some details of her would-be season, including a May 1 premiere, mention that it would be the first-ever live season ever, and that 28 men in their 40s and 50s would be competing. Puccini is 41 years old.
“Well just when you all thought we weren’t getting the bachelorette, here to finally share that you are getting a Silver instead,” Puccini wrote in the caption. “To say the last couple weeks have been crazy is an understatement, between selling my house and starting this new chapter to find love, I’m still in shock!”
She then finished off the caption with #aprilfools, confirming that it was all joke.
Her Followers Are Getting Behind the Idea
GettyIn the comment section, Bachelor Nation is cheering for the idea to come true. “This needs to happen!” wrote former Bachelorette Clare Crawley. “I would love this!!!” echoed the original season 1 Bachelorette, Trista Sutter.
Also in the comments are several of her followers who didn’t exactly get the joke. “This is AMAZING!!! Can’t wait to watch!!” wrote one commenter. “Omgeeeee!!!! I can’t wait to see your journey unfold! ❤️🥰❤️🥰❤️.”
Of course, some other followers got the joke, but still supported the idea. “GAAAAAAH!!! You TOTALLY got me. I was soooo excited for a sec. Well played 😆,” wrote one follower. “Why can’t this be true 😩,” wrote another commenter.
From the looks of it, Puccini now needs to break the news that it was all a ruse to some. One thing is for certain though, lots of fans of hers would be tuning in to watch.

I can see better options.
