Fans are highly anticipating the new season of “The Bachelorette,” which will see “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star Taylor Frankie Paul handing out roses and possibly getting engaged.
While a premiere date has not been announced as of this writing, “The Bachelorette” Facebook page teased fans with a first look at the potential suitors who will be competing for Paul’s heart. However, fans quickly realized that one of the men was once engaged to a mega pop star.
Is Lana Del Rey’s Ex-Fiancé Going to Appear on ‘The Bachelorette?’
GettyViewers will likely have to wait until next year to watch Taylor Frankie Paul search for love on the new season of “The Bachelorette.” However, fans just got a first look at her potential suitors after the show’s Facebook page shared photos of the 26 eligible bachelors hoping to win her heart.
According to Cosmopolitan, one of the eligible suitors is 35-year-old Clayton Johnson, a talented country singer who happens to be Lana Del Rey’s ex-fiancé.
As the outlet reported, Johnson and Del Rey met on a dating app in the summer of 2020 and had a whirlwind romance, getting engaged that December. The Mirror reported that the couple ended their engagement in September 2021.
It’ll be interesting to see Johnson now vying for Paul’s attention, and whether he’ll bring up the fact that he was once engaged to a pop star.
As for Paul’s other suitors, they come from all parts of the U.S. and include four men who hail from Utah.
Clayton Johnson Worked with Del Rey After Their Split
A musician based in Nashville, Tennessee, Clayton Johnson shared in July 2024 that he had worked with Del Rey on her music, despite the two going their separate ways. Johnson revealed that he helped write her song, “Tough,” featuring Quavo.
In an Instagram post, Johnson shared the voice notes for the song, and he could be heard singing what would become the intro to Del Rey’s tune. A third photo showed the songstress in the studio.
“Back in January, Lana and I sat in Nashville free styling songs on an acoustic guitar about imaginary animals and Oliver’s chew toys. I showed her a few songs I had been working on, and played her a song idea from a different session,” he captioned his post.
He continued, “She had a vision for it. Her and Jack gave me a call when she got home and asked if we could rework this voice note idea that I sent over for “Tough.” The rest is history. Thank you to the other original writers that carved this thing out together in Nashville, and thank you to Quavo, Jack, Cirkut, Andrew, and especially Lana for having the vision to take this voice note and turn it into something special. TOUGH out now.”
Looking at Johnson’s Instagram, he released his first EP, “Live to Learn,” in May, and performs across the U.S. If he makes it far on “The Bachelorette,” will fans get to see him serenade Paul?
