Hannah Brown Shares Brave Mental Health Update — ‘I Don’t Really Like Myself Right Now’

Hannah Brown opened up in a big way on social media this week, sharing an emotional and brave update about her mental health and why she doesn’t post about it too much.

In the teary-eyed Instagram Story post on May 29, Brown said one of her team meetings turned into a “therapy session,” where she was encouraged to share more personal tidbits of her life on social media.

The former “Bachelorette,” 31, got emotional when sharing why that’s the case.

In a team meeting this week, Brown said she was told that she’s “not fully being yourself” or “showing your life on your stories or on social.”

“I broke down … I don’t fully like myself right now and so I think I’m scared that if I show you guys my actual life, you might not like me or I might let you down because I do feel like a lot of people look up to me,” the author said.

She added, “Sometimes I’m like, ‘Why?’ because I do not have it all figured out and I’m scared if I did start showing, you’re gonna be like, ‘Oh my gosh, she’s not OK.’ And maybe I’m not right now. I’ve got a lot going on.

“But I want to be a better version of myself. I really do.”

Brown, who married Adam Woolard last July, added that her “raw moment” was her way of holding herself accountable.

“Y’all deserve to see different parts of me and to see me grow and to see me change and pivot,” Brown continued. “So I’m marking today as one of those days.”

In a separate Instagram Story the next day, Brown reassured her followers that she’s OK after her sentimental message.

“I don’t know if I’m feeling good, but, you know, I just had to have my breakdown yesterday,” Brown said. “I’m not gonna be crying on the internet all the time but I just want to say thank you to everyone.”

She added that she’s “doing better today” and that she’s working toward a plan to “take care of myself more.”

“It’s a new day. I’m feeling OK,” the “Mistakes We Never Made” author said.

She also shared that she’s on a lot of hormones right now, likely “exasperating” her emotions at the time. She was recently diagnosed with having a double uterus.

Hannah Brown first became known to Bachelor Nation on Colton Underwood’s season of “The Bachelor” before leading season 15 of “The Bachelorette” in 2019. Her season ended with a broken engagement to Jed Wyatt after reports surfaced about his past relationship. Brown later won “Dancing with the Stars” season 28.

She has since released books, launched a podcast, competed on “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test” and remained one of the franchise’s most recognizable alums.
