Nick Viall first gained reality TV fame by appearing on two seasons of “The Bachelorette,” finishing as runner-up both times, and later trying his luck on “Bachelor in Paradise” before starring as the lead on season 21 of “The Bachelor.” His journey to find love, however, wasn’t immediate, as his relationship with Vanessa Grimaldi didn’t last. It would take a few more years for Viall to find his perfect match with Natalie Joy.
The couple welcomed their daughter, River Rose Viall, in February 2024, the same year they tied the knot. Together, they co-host “The Viall Files” podcast and recently shared the joyful news that Joy is expecting twins, revealing their genders in a heartfelt announcement.
Nick Viall & Natalie Joy Reveal the Gender of Their Twins
Former “Bachelor” star Nick Viall and his wife, Natalie Joy, recently revealed that they are expecting twins! On Feb. 4, the couple shared the exciting news on Instagram, posting a sweet photo of Joy cradling her baby bump with Viall holding their daughter, River, whose shirt read “Big Sis.” Both parents also held up ultrasound photos, making the announcement even more heartwarming.
Their caption read, “Our rainbow babies are finally ready to join us and this time it’s TWINS 🌈🌈.”
The announcement comes after the couple experienced three miscarriages last year. Speaking on “The Viall Files” podcast in August, Viall shared, “As you can see, Natalie is not with us. There’s no really easy way to talk about this, so I’ll share a little bit.”
“Sadly, Natalie experienced another miscarriage. It is her third this year, our third this year. There’s no really good way to say, it [expletive] sucks. And so she’s obviously at home resting, healing, both physically and emotionally,” he continued.
On Feb. 19, the couple joyfully shared the genders of their twins on Instagram. Similar to how they announced the gender of their daughter, River, the couple held two large black balloons with question marks as River stood next to them.
Viall was the first to pop his balloon, releasing pink confetti and smaller pink balloons, revealing that the couple was expecting a girl. Joy went next, and when she popped her balloon, more pink balloons flew out, confirming that both of their twins were girls.
Viall is now the ultimate girl dad!
Viall & Joy’s Relationship Timeline
GettyAccording to People, Viall found love outside of reality TV when Joy messaged him on Instagram. They began dating in July 2020, and didn’t go Instagram official until the following year.
During a 2022 appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, the couple opened up about their 18-year age gap, with Viall admitting that he had “anxiety” over it at first.
“At first, it was something I think I was having a lot of anxiety about,” he said. “You know, like, ‘Are we going to be compatible?’ And I think early on that was part of the things I would worry about. But just the more I got to know her, the more I was just going to her for advice or just checking in with her, I just felt like we just met each other on the same wavelength and I always felt like she was my equal,” he shared.
Joy then added, “We realized we were on the same stages of life and we were ready for the same things … I’m in a place where I want to get married and have children and he’s also in that same place. We both have big careers and aspirations and jobs and stuff that we both love.”
They went on to prove that their age difference didn’t matter, getting engaged in January 2023, and first welcoming their daughter River into the world in February 2024, before tying the knot on Joy’s family farm in Georgia that April.

Congratulations both of you. Here’s to good health, happy endings and exciting beginnings.
