When reality TV rivals reunite, you expect chaos. Maybe a tense podcast appearance. A shady Instagram Story. At the very least, a subtweet. What you probably don’t expect? A full-blown cowboy-inspired music video. But that’s exactly what happened when Eric Nam turned his “The Traitors” Season 4 finale heartbreak into art. And honestly? We think it’s brilliant.
After being betrayed in the finale by fellow Traitor, Rob Rausch (who walked away with the entire $220,800 prize pot) Eric didn’t spiral. He didn’t rage. He picked up a mic. The result is his new single, “How the Fire Started,” complete with a Western-inspired music video that reunites some very familiar faces.
A ‘Traitors’ Reunion, With a Twist
“The Traitors” Season 4 gave us strategy, suspicion, and that jaw-dropping finale moment when Rob made the move that cost Eric the win. Instead of letting that be the final chapter, Eric flipped the script.
In the music video, he reunites with fellow cast members Maura Higgins, Natalie Anderson, Ron Funches, and Yam Yam Arocho ( yes, that Yam Yam) to stand strong against Rob in the most cinematic way possible.
The vibes? Cowboy-core. Dramatic stares. Dusty Western energy. It seems like a revenge fantasy, but make it stylish. And the best part? Rob shows up too.
In an exclusive interview with People, Eric explained how the music video:
“It was good to see everybody in a different element, just chilling,” he said. Then he painted the picture perfectly: “Ron was doing Ron, just under a tree by himself. Yam Yam was loud as ever. Maura was doing glam and looking fabulous, and Rob just rolls up in an overall.”
The mental image alone? Worth pressing play.
PeacockEric also revealed how they all came together again. “I was like, ‘I know everybody’s going to be in town [for the official reunion], so I would love to get them in.’” So he made the calls.
“I called Rob, and Rob was like, ‘This is the least I can do for you. Absolutely.’ Then I called Maura, and she was like, ‘We have to do this.’ And then we rounded it out with our cast.”
And maybe the most wholesome part of it all: “I think it’s just a great way to wrap up this experience and put a bow on it.”
Let’s be real; that’s how you handle reality TV drama like a grown-up. You collaborate.
Eric Nam: From Betrayal to Bop
Eric also shared a heartfelt message on the official YouTube video:
“It’s been years since I’ve released music, and I’m so glad you’re here! I hope you all love this song and video as much as I do. Major shout to my faithfuls (and traitor) ya’ll made this one special 🔥❤️”
It seems like fans wasted zero time hitting the comments section.
One viewer wrote, “Damn, never thought I would see Korea’s boyfriend, Survivor winners, hotties from Love Island and a comedian come together to film the best MV ever.”
Another declared, “And ITS A HIT. The man knows pitch.”
“Ron going back for Robby😭 this whole video was pure perfection and full of all our favorite baddies 😽❤️🔥,” someone else shared.
“Ron and Rob’s scene at the end was my favorite part 😂 What a fun MV! Great job to everyone involved, the Faithfuls and the Traitors all looked hot 🔥,” another fan added.
“Love how even in the video they’re like maybe Rob shouldn’t die love it,” one comment joked, referring to Rob’s many fights at The Round Table during the show.
And then came the request we can all agree with: “Can we get an extended version or a behind the scenes video? This was fantastic but 3 minutes isn’t enough.”
Wrapping It Up the Right Way
It seems like this could’ve easily turned into lingering bitterness. Instead, Eric gave fans something creative, collaborative, and surprisingly wholesome.
There’s something refreshing about watching reality TV contestants move past game drama and create something fun together. No screaming matches. No messy headlines. Just music, a little tongue-in-cheek revenge, and a group of former competitors who clearly enjoyed reuniting.
If this is how “The Traitors” players choose to settle scores from now on, we’re absolutely not complaining. Because let’s be honest: revenge songs > reunion fights.
“The Traitors” has already been renewed for a Season 5, and NBC is currently casting for “civilian players” to be on a non-celeb version of the game.
