Best Night 1 Battle Round Performances From ‘The Voice’ Season 29 [VIDEO]

The first night of Battle Rounds on “The Voice” 2026 brought us some amazing head-to-head battles. Night 1 of the Battle Rounds on “The Voice” season 29 gave us moments of the coaches struggling to pick a winner. However, then some steals came into play on “The Voice” 2026. The artists were fighting to remain in the competition, but who had the best performances of the night on “The Voice” tonight? Check out our picks and their Battle Round videos below in our “The Voice” spoilers.

Team Kelly – Liv Ciara vs. Mikenley Brown

They are the youngest members of Team Kelly, so they knew they would be paired. For their battle, they are singing “Focus” by HER. They didn’t know this song, so they had a lot to work on. Kelly couldn’t be here for the rehearsals, so Jennifer is filling in as advisor and coach.

In rehearsals, Jennifer Hudson felt like they were there musically; they just needed to take it to the next level. She said it’s in the interpretation of the song.

For their performance, they are both very strong singers. Their voices work for this song choice. I think they both hit some great notes, and this is going to be a tough one for Kelly.

For the coaches, John said he was out here getting all excited like you were on my team. Liv’s range is so impressive, but Mikenley’s tone is so sultry. He would go with Liv. Adam said they were so good at playing off each other. Kelly said they elevated each other instead of competing.

In the end, Kelly picked Mikenley Brown as the winner! However, both John and Adam wanted to steal Liv away. While they were making their pitch, Kelly hit her Super Steal button and kept Liv on her team, also!

Team Adam – Alexia Jaay vs. Moses G

Adam said they are both powerhouses, with such big vocals. Alexia said she is not surprised they are paired together. They are very similar, but Alexia said they vibe together.

For their performance, they are singing “Nightshift” by The Commodores. Benji said that when they started singing, he couldn’t stop smiling. Benji said Alexia’s voice doesn’t sound like she’s rehearsing for a Battle Round on “The Voice.” Adam told them that nobody is perfect, so don’t think of that. Adam said they complement each other, and his favorite of the day.

They hit the stage, and both have such a strong voice. I felt like Alexia was just so good, but Moses would hit some runs or notes and make me rethink it. They both did a stellar job on this one. Adam picked Alexia as the winner, but John Legend used his steal to get Moses on his team.

Honorable Mention: Bay Simpson

I had to include Bay Simpson on this list, as I felt like he blew everyone away with this performance. I think he was looked over during the Blind Auditions, but this performance proved he has an amazing voice and people should pay attention.

Who was your favorite Battle Round performance tonight on “The Voice” season 29?
