When Will ‘The Voice’ Return? Season 30 Schedule Revealed

“The Voice” is officially returning for its milestone 30th season later this year, and NBC has now revealed new details about the show’s schedule and coaching lineup.

Although the network has not yet announced an official premiere date, NBC confirmed during its Upfront presentation on May 11 that season 30 will debut in September 2026.

The long-running singing competition will continue airing on Monday nights, though the schedule will shift later in the season due to NBC’s NBA coverage.

According to TV Insider, “The Voice” will air from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. ET during September and October before moving to a one-hour slot at 9 p.m. ET in November.

The scheduling adjustment follows NBC’s recent expansion of NBA programming on Tuesday nights, which previously impacted the show’s format and episode schedule.

Historically, the fall edition of “The Voice” premieres during the third week of September.

Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson & Riley Green Join ‘The Voice’ Season 30

NBC has also confirmed three of the four coaches who will appear in the iconic red chairs for season 30.

Adam Levine and Kelly Clarkson are both returning for the new season alongside newcomer Riley Green.

Green announced the news on Instagram on May 9.

“I guess y’all can start calling me coach… see ya this fall. @nbcthevoice #thevoice,” Green wrote.

NBC later confirmed that a fourth coach will be announced at a later date.

Levine also recently discussed his return in an interview with People.

“I’m having so much fun doing it,” Levine said. “Since I came back a few seasons ago it’s just been a blast and I’m super happy to keep it going as long as they’ll have me.”

Clarkson’s return was announced through “The Voice” Instagram account on May 7.

“Please give a warm welcome back to Coach Kelly Clarkson! The Voice returns this fall,” the show’s account shared.

Season 29 featured a reduced coaching panel with only Levine, Clarkson, and John Legend participating due to the shortened once-a-week format.

NBC has not yet confirmed whether season 30 will officially return to a four-coach format, though the network’s announcement suggests that possibility remains likely.

‘The Voice’ Format Expected to Continue for Season 30

While NBC has not officially detailed “The Voice” season 30 format, the competition is expected to continue using the show’s signature structure.

The Blind Auditions will likely once again launch the season, allowing coaches to build teams without seeing contestants perform.

The Battle Rounds traditionally follow the Blinds, with coaches pairing singers together for duet performances before selecting one artist to advance.

In many recent seasons, coaches have also been given Steals and Saves during the Battles, though the exact number varies.

The Knockout Rounds typically come next, with contestants competing individually while coaches decide who advances.

Some recent seasons have also included Steals during the Knockouts.

‘The Voice’ Format Could Change Again in Season 30

One of the biggest changes during season 29 involved the removal of the live shows.

For the first time, viewers did not vote for their favorite contestants during the later rounds of the competition.

Instead, the entire season was pre-taped, with voting handled internally by an audience made up of former contestants and “The Voice” super fans.

The format shift significantly shortened the season and reduced the number of live broadcasts compared to previous installments.

NBC has not yet confirmed whether the pre-taped format and in-house voting system will continue for season 30.

“The Voice” season 30 premieres in September 2026 on NBC.
