If you have followed Jenny Slatten and Sumit Singh through every heartbreak, setback, and hard-earned milestone on “90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way”, their family is now asking for support during one of the most difficult chapters of their lives. Jenny’s daughters, Christina and Dominique, have launched a GoFundMe to help Jenny and Sumit manage the growing financial burden that comes with an ALS diagnosis.
Jenny and Sumit Need Support as Medical Costs Continue to Grow
The reality of living with ALS brings overwhelming expenses. Home health care, prescription medications, doctor visits, hospital stays, and mobility equipment such as walkers and wheelchairs are all expected to become part of Jenny’s day-to-day care.
“If you can help, please do,” the family shared in their message. “Any amount is welcome. Thank you all in advance.”
According to the fundraiser, every contribution will go directly toward helping Jenny stay as comfortable, supported, and mobile as possible while navigating the disease’s progression.
What Jenny Slatten Said About Her ALS Diagnosis
Jenny and Sumit recently shared the diagnosis publicly after spending months trying to process it privately. Jenny, 68, revealed that what was initially rumored to be a stroke was ultimately diagnosed as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as ALS.
“There was a rumor that I had a stroke, but it turned out to be ALS,” Jenny wrote in an emotional Instagram statement.
“At first, we tried to keep it private because it’s been very emotional and overwhelming for us. We were hoping to find some kind of solution before speaking publicly. But after trying for some time, we feel like it’s time to reach out.”
The couple also spoke candidly about the emotional toll the diagnosis has taken on them.
“We cried and held each other,” Jenny told People in an exclusive interview published May 19. Both she and Sumit admitted they feel deeply “scared” about what lies ahead.
Jenny Has Already Lived Through the Pain of ALS Once Before
What makes the diagnosis even more devastating is Jenny’s personal connection to the disease. Her father also died from ALS, meaning she understands firsthand how painful and unforgiving the illness can be.
In a joint message shared on Instagram, Jenny and Sumit explained why they chose to finally open up after keeping the diagnosis private for so long.
“With a heavy heart, we wanted to share some news with all of you,” they wrote. “Thank you so much for all the love and support. Right now, we are open to any kind of help — treatments, clinical trials, lifestyle changes, or anything that could help treat this disease or slow down its progression.”
For months, the couple carried the news quietly while searching for answers, treatment options, and some sense of hope before sharing it publicly. Now, they are leaning on the community that has followed their journey for years as they face an uncertain road ahead.
Slatten’s heartbreaking news comes just months after “Grey’s Anatomy” star Eric Dane, who had also been battling ALS, died earlier this year.
