The live shows on “America’s Got Talent” season 20 continue tonight on NBC. We get to see the last set of 11 acts perform for the “AGT” judges — Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Sofia Vergara, and Melanie “Mel B” Brown — and for America’s votes for the fourth time this season.
Time to Vote on ‘America’s Got Talent’
America gets another chance on “America’s Got Talent” season 20 tonight to vote for their favorite acts from the Top 44. Fans of the show can vote two different ways for their favorite acts: online or via mobile app.
Voting for “America’s Got Talent” starts when the live shows begin on Tuesdays, which is at 8 p.m. ET. Voting will close at 7 a.m. ET on Wednesday mornings. Terry Crews will then share the results on Wednesday nights at 8 p.m. ET.
Last Week of Quarterfinals
After a quick look back at last week’s shows, the judges are now in place, and Terry Crews is in the building. Time to get started on the final week of Quarterfinals on “AGT” season 20. We are just one week away from the Semifinals, and four of these acts will be moving on. Howie has the Golden Buzzer tonight, so who will he give it to?
Crash Adams on ‘America’s Got Talent’
This duo has known each other since they were little kids. They have had a wide variety of jobs. They were performing their music in front of three or four people, but then started making videos online, and it went viral. Their audition went viral, so the pressure is on tonight.
It’s a decent song. They are having fun on the stage and have some very good stage presence. The “America’s Got Talent” audience definitely loves them.
Judges’ Feedback: Sofia said she thinks they are great and understands why they’re so popular on the internet. Howie said they are great, and they could be stars, but this didn’t step it up. Mel B said the song itself was great and the band sounded tight, but they could have done better vocally. Simon said he thinks they made a smart decision in coming on the show, and they know who they are.
Zak Mirz
As a child, he was inspired by David Blaine as a young magician. After his audition, he actually got a phone call from Blaine. He also had a second daughter, so it’s a big night for Zak tonight on “America’s Got Talent” season 20.
Zak says his house is a mess at home because of the two kids. He is going to make a mess tonight with his magic trick, as he hands out cards with animals on them. They are then ripping and burying cards. This one seems to go on for quite a while, which leads Howie to hit the X button for him. In the end, the trick works, and the audience and judges are amazed, even though Howie hit the X button.
Judges’ Feedback: Howie said he takes the X back, but it took longer to build this trick than it did to build the IKEA lounge. Mel B said wow, and his babies are going to be so proud of him. Simon said that is not a trick, that’s magic. Sofia said she thought too many instructions at the beginning, but so glad it all worked out in the end.
The TT Boys
They are an acrobatic duo from Ethiopia. They met ten years ago, and the moment they hit the stage, they knew this was what they wanted to do for their lives. Tonight, they will be blindfolding one of the guys in hopes of getting that Golden Buzzer on “America’s Got Talent” 2025.
This is incredible. The way the one guy just whips around, it just looks so effortless. He is bouncing around up there, as the fire and music are blaring. They then blindfold the one guy, and again, he is whipped around. The buildup to the blindfold took a while, but this is an amazing act, and I am mesmerized by it.
Judges’ Feedback: Mel B said she feels sick and exhausted, and that was out of this world. Simon said an act like that just creates so much excitement within you. Brilliant. Sofia said that it was exciting, dramatic, and dangerous, and they stepped it up from the audition. Howie said that it was amazing, terrifying, and a step up. While the audience wants him to hit the Golden Buzzer, he said it’s too early, and America will vote them in.
Cole Swensen & Judy on ‘America’s Got Talent’ Season 20
Simon said his audition was alright, but having his mom up there made it so much better. She wasn’t sure if she was going to do the live show with him tonight, but she is bringing out the cello tonight on “America’s Got Talent” season 20.
He has such a deep voice, you don’t expect it. Cole sings a Billie Eilish song, and while it’s enjoyable, I am not overly impressed. It is adorable to see his mom smile and watch him perform, though.
Judges’ Feedback: Sofia said this act is all about emotion, and the bond they have with each other is beautiful. Howie said it was beautiful and loves the song, but to sing a love song with his mother sitting there, it was a little awkward. Mel B said his vocals sounded beautiful, but she agrees with Howie. Simon said that it didn’t cross his mind once. People at home are going to love both of them.
Mike Munz
Mike’s audition has the most views of any act on season 20, which is crazy. Despite that, he didn’t make the Top 44 acts. However, a week before tonight’s show, he got a call, and now he’s here, and it’s all about showing off his muscles.
He said he was an introvert as a child, but here he is showing off his body and not shy about it. It’s wild to see all of his muscles and how he moves them. However, Simon and Howie were not impressed, hitting the X button for him.
Judges’ Feedback: Simon said he loves Mike and loves his muscles, but it’s not an act. Mel B said what he does with his body and his muscles, but it’s talent. Howie said it isn’t an act, it’s a demonstration. Sofia said she disagrees with these jealous men. It’s the kind of act the world can only see on “AGT.”
Chuck Adams on ‘America’s Got Talent’
Chuck Adams has been playing music since he was a child. He recorded a single when he was a teenager, but a year later, his record label dropped him, and he seemed to lose all support. However, his mom has been telling him to audition for “AGT” for 10 years now, and here he is.
Adams has a different sound to his voice. It almost looks like he is struggling to get some of the notes. This was a good performance, but I am not blown away.
Judges’ Feedback: Sofia said she is very excited, and it was spectacular. Mel B said she loves her voice and she feels his heart and soul, and that was flawless. Howie said he is really good and he’s got the whole package, but he wanted more excitement. Simon said he likes the song choice a lot, and he really likes and respects him.
The Funkateer Dancers
This is the first of Terry Crews’ Golden Buzzers performing tonight. This group first danced together in high school 45 years ago! They danced together for about nine years before life got hold of them, and they took a 37-year break. Now they are back and loving all the exposure they’ve gotten since their audition. They said they are old, but they ain’t cold.
This is the type of act that just makes you have a smile on your face the entire time. They can still dance, and it’s entertaining. It’s just so fun to watch them up there having the time of their lives and enjoying the entire moment.
Judges’ Feedback: Howie said they are just pure joy, and everyone is smiling. Mel B said old school never fails, and they killed it up there. Sofia said that it was amazing. Simon said we all love you, and it’s how they make us feel.
The Boykinz on ‘America’s Got Talent’
Time for Terry Crews’ other Golden Buzzer act to perform. Their love for country music started a long time ago. They write their own songs and love sharing their stories. They brought their whole family for this performance, as they plan on taking on another original song.
I wasn’t sure when this first started, but this song definitely rubbed off on me. It’s catchy and they sound good harmonizing together. It’s upbeat and has good energy. They get a standing ovation from Mel B.
Judges’ Feedback: Sofia said they were beautiful up there, and their voices are beautiful, but she liked the audition more. Mel B said when they harmonize, it blends like magic. She just wants to hear their voices. Howie said he wants to see somebody step it up, and their audition was better than tonight. Simon said they have a star glow about them. He probably would have dropped the track in the middle. He hopes they come back.
Gendai
As a kid, he was always moving. He saw someone dancing outside a train station, and it changed everything for him. He used to dance with everyone until he discovered lasers. Now they are his dance partners on “America’s Got Talent” season 20.
To be honest, it’s kind of cool to see. The lasers are a part of the act and make it a bigger act, since it’s really just him up there dancing. It’s the type of act you would see in Vegas, in my mind.
Judges’ Feedback: Mel B said this time he made it clear what was going on. Visually, it will look beautiful. Sofia said it’s a great concept and super entertaining, but not sure if she could watch an hour or two of the show. Howie said he loves what he does, but is not sure if it was a step up from what he did. Simon said it’s not down to us, it’s down to America. Tonight was gimmicky, and the track was horrible, and he didn’t like the song.
Team Recycled
Mel B called them boring during the auditions. They are a dance crew based out of Germany, but have many nations represented. They want to step it up from the last time and impress Mel B this time around.
The group starts in the audience, and one member is spinning on his head for what seems like five minutes. Other members are popping in and out with the jackets, and it’s cool to see. They are working the fans and props. They then take over the stage, and it’s a very big performance, and get a standing ovation from the judges.
Judges’ Feedback: Howie said tonight was kind of disappointing, as he wanted to see an act step it up, to show they can win this. No one has been able to. However, he thought Team Recycled did just that, as he hit the Golden Buzzer for them!
Birmingham Youth Fellowship Choir
This was one of Simon’s Golden Buzzer acts from the auditions. They said they have something big coming, and they are not taking it safe tonight. They want to win it and are taking it home.
There is something about a choir that just makes you feel good, like the old dancers from earlier. They get you pumped up and energized. This group was taking us to church the whole performance and had everyone on their feet.
Judges’ Feedback: Sofia said that it was the feel-good moment of the show tonight. Mel B said they took her to church. Howie said he has been healed. Simon said that was fantastic.
That is all the acts for tonight. So, who was your favorite, and who are you voting for tonight?
