Jessica Sanchez Feels ‘Peaceful’ Performing on ‘AGT’ While Pregnant

Jessica Sanchez found out she was expecting her first child with husband, Ricky Gallardo, just days after auditioning for season 20 of “America’s Got Talent.”

Sanchez, 30, wasn’t daunted by the idea of competing on the show while pregnant, however. Instead the news motivated her even more. “This year, I just felt this immense peace, like, I’m ready to do this,” the singer shared with TV Insider. “If anything, it kind of motivated me a little bit because I’m like, now I get to do this with my daughter. It’s like a once-in-a-lifetime thing.”

On September 2, Sanchez will compete in the show’s quarterfinals, and she’s feeling “peaceful” as she continues on her “AGT” journey.

“Preparing vocally, typically your breathing and stuff gets affected when you’re pregnant, but as far as I’ve been preparing, it hasn’t really been affected tremendously and I’m so thankful for that,” she explained.

Her outlook is super positive and she’s ready in case she does face any changes to her voice. “Even if my voice does get a little impacted from the pregnancy, I’m excited to challenge myself on that stage,” Sanchez said.

Sanchez Has a History With ‘America’s Got Talent’

Sanchez is no stranger to the “AGT” stage, having made her first appearance on the show’s first season in 2006. She was only 10 years old at the time. Sanchez also competed on season 11 of “American Idol” in 2012 where she made it all the way to the top 2, becoming the runner-up to winner Phillip Phillips.

“Throughout the years, I kind of fell out of love of music because I was really young and I was so swayed by what everybody wanted me to be,” Sanchez revealed to Today. But now she feels ready to show the world who she really is. “I know exactly what I want. I’m excited to be back.”

Jessica Sanchez Teased Her Quarterfinals Performance

Sanchez is gearing up to take the “AGT” stage by storm again, and she gave TV Insider a few hints about what she has in store for her quarterfinals performance.

“I don’t want to give away too much, but I feel like the first audition, I really came in with a song that a lot of people did not expect me to sing and with this next song, it’s similar,” she shared.

“It was really fun for me to be creative with it and take it somewhere vocally where a lot of people think it wouldn’t go,” Sanchez continued. “I’m excited for that.”
