Luke Bryan’s Viral Dance Move – the ‘Yoinkity Sploink’ Has Fans Cracking Up

Country star and American Idol judge, Luke Bryan, 50, has quite the reputation for turning his concerts into more than just a night of music. The singer has a history of breaking into hilarious dance moves onstage, and even once brought up a fan to join him during his “Word on the Street Tour” in Illinois earlier this year.

Now, one of Bryan’s signature moves has a name – the “yoinkity sploink.”

Luke Bryan Loves to Dance

Year after year, tour after tour, Bryan is known for turning the stage into a dance party. While some fans may classify his moves as “cringe,” the majority seem to love them, calling his dance moves “top tier” and “perfectly unhinged” – as well as an essential part of the show.

Some fans who purchase tickets even expect to see the dance moves during the tour, as they joke around that their concert comes with a *very expensive* dance lesson.

And this is hardly a new aspect of Bryan’s concerts. In a 2014 review of Bryan’s Jiffy Lube Live show, The Washington Post noted that Bryan was known to get the crowd up and dancing when he performed “Country Girl (Shake It for Me)”, showcasing that the singer’s love for entertaining the crowd is clearly nothing new.

The Idol judge even once admitted that his dance moves date back to his college days. In a 2015 article, ABC News reported that during a Q&A at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, Bryan said that his band sounded so bad, that they needed to come up with a solution to distract the crowd. That ended up resorting to the group dancing on stage, which is something Bryan has clearly carried along with him throughout his solo career, too.

So, What is the ‘Yoinkity Sploink’?

Now, fans are giving one of Bryan’s bizarre and hilarious dance moves a new name – the “yoinkity sploink.” Bryan appears to be taking part in a new dance move, where he repeatedly moves his torso up and down, bobs his head around and shakes his hips.

After this video of Bryan’s onstage dance moves went viral, fans came up with this new name in the comment section, as they thought it was perfectly fitting for the way he was moving. According to an article by Backstage Country, fans in the comment section were comparing Bryan’s “yoinkity sploink” to a “cat coughing up a hairball” or “laying an egg.”

Fans Seem to Love It

As hilarious as the dance moves may are, many fans seem to love them, and find them hilarious. Now, some fans, and even a few non-country listeners are recreating the “yoinkity sploink,” and posting their versions of the viral dance move to TikTok.

Whether fans are attending the “Word on the Street Tour” in hopes for a night filled with country music, or a chance to see the “yoinkity sploink” live in action, they can expect a good time.

And if his college days are any indication, Bryan knows how to make his audience laugh, and probably has no plans to stop dancing anytime soon.
