‘American Idol’ Season 24 Spoilers: Chris Tungseth Disney Night Performance [VIDEO]

It was Disney Night on “American Idol” season 24 tonight on ABC. The Top 9 on “American Idol” 2026 were taking on some of your favorite Disney songs from some of your favorite Disney movies. Chris Tungseth has been one of the standouts this season, and I was beyond excited to see what he was going to pull out for this Disney Night performance on “American Idol” 2026. Check out the Chris Tungseth performance video from tonight below in our “American Idol” spoilers.

Last Week on ‘American Idol’ Season 24

For this performance last week on “American Idol” season 24, he sang “Cold As Ice” by Foreigner. Chris is that rocker, and you would think this would be a great song choice for him. Yes, he did a good job with the song performance, but something felt off to me, too.

I felt like he was trying too much. He was trying to entertain or something, but he didn’t look as comfortable on that stage doing it. I like Chris, but this wasn’t it for me.

Disney Night on Idol

Chris got to go to Disneyland with his sister. They have a picture of them at Disney World as kids, so it was nice to go as adults and let loose. Jennifer said Chris blew her away. He took a big Disney ballad and brought some rock to it. She said she didn’t believe some of it, and she wanted to believe it. If he is uncomfortable, then the audience is going to be uncomfortable. Jennifer said it’s a really big song, and he has to find the performance element of it.

For the performance, he sings “Let It Go” from “Frozen.” For me, this was a bad song choice. It’s interesting to put a rock twist to this song, but it didn’t work for me. It’s such a classic, so it didn’t improve it. It left me wanting more from Chris.

For the judges, Lionel said he did fantastically. He was giving us expression. Carrie said she is really proud of him, and that’s the most we’ve seen him emote. Jennifer said he’s such a teddy bear, and she just wants to cheer for him. Don’t lose the song while you perform it. Luke said great job in playing along with the moment. This is all about his growth.

What did you think of Chris’ performance on “American Idol” tonight?
