Top 9 Performances on ‘American Idol’ 2026
Last week on “American Idol” season 24, the Top 9 took on Disney Night. This is always an iconic night, as it gives the artists a chance to take on some of the classic songs from Disney movies.
For the night, EGOT winner and former “American Idol” contestant Jennifer Hudson joined the show. She not only served as a mentor to the Top 9 artists this week, but she also served as a guest judge. This was all a perfect chance for Hudson to throw some shoes at these finalists, which happened a lot throughout the night.
After watching some pretty amazing performances, it was time for the live voting results. America had voted live during the show, and it was time for the Top 9 to become the Top 7. Ryan took the stage and delivered the results.
After America’s votes were tallied, we had to say goodbye to both Kyndal Inskeep and Lucas Leon. This one didn’t surprise me, as I had predicted earlier in the day that these two artists would be eliminated. Early on, I thought Kyndal would go far this season, but that changed as the season went on.
Who Makes the Top 5 on ‘American Idol’
For tonight, the Top 7 will take the stage two times to perform for the live shows. The “American Idol” judges — Carrie Underwood, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan — will be joined by a special guest judge this week, comedian Nikki Glaser.
For tonight, the Top 7 will perform two times before Ryan delivers the results. We will not only see a Taylor Swift song, but the Top 7 will also perform songs from iconic California artists.
When all is said and done, the Top 7 will become the Top 5. Yes, another two singers will be eliminated tonight on “American Idol” season 24, and we will be that much closer to finding out who wins this season. Which two artists will be eliminated tonight?
It’s definitely going to be hard to see two of these singers go home. I am torn on this one, but I think we have some standouts this season (Jordan McCullough, Keyla Richardson, and Hannah Harper). I think Brooks is a fan-favorite, so he should be safe tonight, too.
That leaves us with Braden Rumfelt, Chris Tingseth, and Daniel Stallworth. Daniel has been winning me over more and more each week, but I just feel he isn’t as popular as the other singers. Because of that, I feel like he will be going home.
For Braden and Chris, I think Braden holds the edge here. I think Chris has been great, but I think his journey ends tonight, also.
