Morgan Pope’s path to “Big Brother 27” apparently came with a brief detour toward another CBS reality competition: “Survivor.”
The season 27 houseguest shared the update on Instagram on May 9 alongside a carousel of photos from her time on the CBS reality competition. The post marked one year since her first conversation with a “Big Brother” casting director.
“I had NO idea how much my life was about to change,” Pope wrote.
Then came the reality TV what-if.
“Within 1 week, I was recruited, redirected toward ‘Survivor,’ then brought right back to ‘BB,”‘ she continued. “A roller coaster to say the least, but a ride I wouldn’t change for anything.”
Pope added that the journey has been “so surreal” and said she is “SO grateful for every moment of it.”
Morgan Pope Says She Was Briefly ‘Redirected’ Toward ‘Survivor’
CBSPope’s “Survivor” mention immediately caught attention in the comments, especially from fans who could picture her competing as a castaway.
One fan asked, “Please consider going on ‘Survivor’ my queen.”
“Always,” Pope replied.
The possibility also came up again when a fan asked, “‘Survivor’ next?”
Pope answered with a pair of eyes emoji.
She clarified in the comments that “Survivor” was “briefly” recruiting cast members at the same time as “Big Brother.” Pope said she was recruited via Instagram.
She also said she already knew the older seasons of “Big Brother” before getting cast, but production suggested that recruited players watch “Big Brother 26” to get a feel for the newer era of the show. Pope said she decided to watch more seasons on her own to prepare.
Her fellow “Big Brother 27” players were clearly happy the process brought her back to their show.
“Morgy Morg!!!! An amazing experience so happy to have met you!!! Best summer ever!!” Cliffton “Captain Will” Williams commented.
Fellow “BB27” houseguest Kelley Jorgensen also reacted to the alternate “Survivor” path, writing, “God am I glad you went to ‘bb’ instead of ‘survivor.'”
Morgan Pope Became a ‘Big Brother 27’ Competition Standout
CBSPope ultimately entered the “Big Brother 27” house instead of heading to the “Survivor” island.
Her season turned into a major competition run. Pope won two Head of Household competitions and five Power of Veto competitions, giving her seven total competition wins.
She was closely tied to Mickey Lee early in the game before becoming a key part of The Judges alliance. Her loyalty to that group helped shape the second half of the season, especially as she became harder to target because of her competition wins. Her game was also shaped by her connection with Vince Panaro, who became one of her closest strategic relationships as the season moved toward the endgame.
CBSPope made it to the final three before losing the final HOH to Ashley Hollis. Hollis evicted Pope for being too big of a threat, making her the seventh and final juror.
Pope has not closed the door on more reality TV.
When one fan commented that her first season likely would not be her last, Pope replied, “hopefully not!!”
Another fan suggested “The Traitors” instead.
“That would be so fun!!!” Pope wrote.
