“Real Housewives of Atlanta” parents Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker reunited to celebrate their daughter, Blaze Tucker, for her birthday on November 22 only a day after Kandi announced that she will be moving forward with their divorce.
Kandi Shares Divorce Statement
Kandi announced her divorce from Todd on November 21 after 11 years of marriage.
“After deep thought and a lot of prayer, I’ve made the decision to move forward with a divorce. This is a difficult and emotional time, but my focus remains on protecting my peace, being the best mother I can be, and co-parenting with love and respect,” Burruss told PEOPLE in an exclusive statement.
“I’m stepping into a new chapter pouring into my work, my family, and my own growth. I’m grateful to everyone who supported us throughout the years, and I ask for privacy, grace, and understanding as we navigate this transition with our family.”
Kandi and Todd met while filming the fourth season of “RHOA” in 2011 and announced their engagement in January 2013. They tied the knot the following year in April.
According to TMZ, the pair separated a few months ago after growing apart for some time, and it’s been an amicable split. TMZ further reported that, according to their sources, Kandi stopped wearing her wedding ring recently, but her and Todd still talk every day on the phone.
Blaze’s 6th Birthday Bash
Only a day after the announcement, Kandi and Todd came together as a united front to celebrate their daughter Blaze’s sixth birthday with a Snow White-themed party at Ready, Set FUN! in Atlanta, according to PEOPLE.
Kandi took to her Instagram story to share a video of Blaze in their Georgia home as she revealed her “first gifts of the day.”
“Yeah, it’s my birthday today!” Blaze exclaimed.
From behind the camera, Kandi asked, “what’d you get?”
Her 6-year-old daughter proceeded to show off two Labubus still in their boxes, as well as some clothes for the dolls.
“And I love this ginormous one because it’s so ginormous,” Blaze added, which made Kandi laugh. “But I don’t know where to put it, Mom.”
“Well, we’ll find a place to put it,” Kandi said. “I love you. Happy birthday.”
Later in the day, Kandi also shared a post dedicated to her daughter’s birthday, featuring some throwback photos of Blaze, as well as a handful of selfies with Kandi and Blaze at different moments throughout their life.
“Happy birthday to my little twin @blazetucker!!!” Kandi wrote in the caption of her post. “Time is flying by! I can’t believe you’re six years old already… so strong, smart, talented, creative, big personality, & a winner! My beautiful little princess! I love you so much. Everybody give @blazetucker some bday love!”
Todd also posted a tribute to his daughter on his Instagram, featuring photos of Blaze’s morning car rides, Start2Finish race, a family vacation, and more.
“Happy Birthday to my Baby Blaze!” Todd captioned the carousel. “She my Beautiful little princess! She warms my heart every time I see her. @blazetucker where did the time go 6 yrs old! Daddy. Loves you with all his heart!!!”
Todd shared another post for Blaze’s birthday on November 23.
“She makes me smile, laugh and remember how blessed I am. I love her so much,” he wrote in the caption.
