‘Vanderpump Rules’ Alum Katie Maloney Opens up About the Decision to Bring Her Boyfriend on ‘House of Stassi’

The last time fans saw Bravo star Katie Maloney on their television screens was in May 2024, when she appeared alongside her co-stars on a very tense “Vanderpump Rules” season 11 reunion.

During Hulu’s Get Real House event on April 22, it was announced that Maloney was returning to reality TV, joining her former VPR co-star Stassi Schroeder in her new series, “House of Stassi.” It was an exciting moment for fans, who will not only get to see Maloney and Schroeder reunite on screen but also get a glimpse of Maloney’s life with her boyfriend, Nick Martin.

‘House of Stassi’ Will Showcase Katie Maloney & Nick Martin’s Relationship Dynamic

During a recent appearance on the “Humble Brag” podcast with Crystal Minkoff and Cynthia Bailey, Katie Maloney was joined by her podcast co-host Dayna Kathan, where she spoke about returning to television with “House of Stassi.”

What was most intriguing was Maloney sharing how she wanted to make her experience back on reality TV as authentic as possible, which led her to ask her boyfriend, Nick Martin, to appear on the show. Martin, a musician for the band Sleeping with Sirens, will be making his reality TV debut.

“And, yes, Nick, my boyfriend, he is so supportive and is just like, ‘Anything you need me to do to help support you, I’ll be there.’ And, I’m like, ‘well, it would be kind of great if you filmed it,'” she began.

Maloney continued, “He was such a wonderful, willing participant in that and was so supportive. It just felt so different having someone that does support me emotionally, mentally, and physically, in all those ways, be on that journey with me. It felt really, really nice.”

According to Deadline, “House of Stassi” is an unscripted series that will showcase Schroeder’s life like fans have never seen before, including her roles as a successful career woman, wife, and mother of two children. The cast lineup also includes Schroder’s husband, Beau Clark, Maloney, Martin, and former “Vanderpump Rules” star Kristina Kelly.

Fans will also get to see the couple interact with Schroder’s sister, Georgianna Aubin, and friends Taylor Strecker, Rob Evors, and Taylor “Teddy” Donohue.

While speaking about her latest television series with Marie Claire, Schroeder revealed something VPR fans may not have known: she and Maloney experienced a falling out that led to the two not speaking for years.

“No one knows that we had a falling out for years,” Schroeder said, adding, “Now we’re rebuilding our friendship after growing in two completely different directions.”

Schroeder shared that she and Maloney finding their way back together is a reason why she wanted to make her new show. “I don’t see TV shows out there that explore how, when you get to a certain age, and you all choose different paths in life, how that affects your friendships and then how you come back together.”

Maloney also addressed her newfound friendship with Schroeder on the “Humble Brag” podcast.

“No one knows that we had a bit of a falling out for some years, so this is really kind of going to be documenting our road back to friendship in this phase of life that is very different,” she said. “We are on very different life paths right now. She’s married, two kids. I’m divorced and newly dating someone else.”

“I think there is something really beautiful about friendships that span from like your 20s, or early 20s, into like your 40s now, where we are just like different people, but we can still have love and appreciation,” she shared.

“House of Stassi” will premiere on Freeform with two episodes on July 29, and will be available to stream in its entirety on Hulu the next day.
