West Wilson is speaking out after the “Summer House” reunion audio leak — and how it’s affected his relationships.
Following the circulation of multiple clips from the unreleased reunion, Wilson addressed the situation publicly, acknowledging the real-life impact it has had, particularly with Amanda Batula.
During an appearance on his “Show Me Something With Sophie and West” podcast, Wilson reflected on the moment as speculation continues around how the footage made its way online.
West Wilson Addresses ‘Summer House’ Reunion Leak
While reunion footage leaking ahead of air is rare, clips from the “Summer House” reunion began circulating online, quickly drawing attention to tense moments involving cast members, including Batula and Ciara Miller.
“I don’t think anyone on stage could ever do it,” West said. “It’s gotta be someone where audio is. But they found the person. I don’t know who it is. But I’m gonna ask eventually. But I don’t think that’s ever happened before.”
He also addressed the broader reaction behind the scenes.
“Bravo’s so buttoned up with everything that I’m sure they’re just f**king so pissed,” he said. “But obviously — obviously it wasn’t me.”
West Reflects on the Impact
Beyond how the leak happened, Wilson made it clear the situation has had a personal effect.
“These are my friends… and I’ve caused a lot of damage, which [expletive] sucks,” he admitted. “It’s gonna take time for sure.”
The comments marked a more reflective tone from Wilson, who emphasized that repairing those relationships is now a priority.
He also described the reunion experience itself as intense, but ultimately valuable.
“And so, we’re on the other side of it,” he said. “And reunions aren’t fun, but it’s like the darkest form of therapy. Like, you don’t normally get that much feedback on how your actions impact other people.”
Focused on Moving Forward
Wilson said he’s now focused on growth following the situation.
“I’m not trying to be cliché,” he explained, “but I think I can only learn and try to be better after going through this ordeal.”
He added that difficult experiences like this can lead to meaningful change.
“The only way you can make experiences like this worth it — as dark as it gets — is to be better from it later,” he said. “Obviously, I have a lot to learn from and be better for, but it’s absolutely the only way you can make any of this — turn it positive.”
West Wilson and Amanda Batula Address Speculation
As online speculation grew, Wilson and Batula also shared a joint statement addressing the situation.
“We’ve seen the growing online speculation, so while this is still very new, we wanted to provide some clarity,” they said. “It was never our intention to purposely hide anything. Given the complicated dynamics involved and the scrutiny that comes with being on a reality show, we needed a little space to process things privately before speaking on it.”
They emphasized the foundation of their relationship.
“We’ve shown up for each other as friends over the years, through all the highs and lows, and what’s developed recently was the last thing that either of us expected,” the statement continued. “Our connection grew out of a genuine, long-standing friendship, which made it especially important for us to approach this with care.”
Why They Waited to Speak Out
The pair also explained why they did not immediately respond publicly.
“We wanted to take time to understand exactly what we were feeling,” they shared.
They added that they were aware of how their actions could be perceived.
“We also recognize that this has had an impact beyond just us and never wanted our actions to cause any hurt or be perceived as careless,” the statement continued. “We truly appreciate the understanding and respect as we navigate this.”
