“Real Housewives of Potomac” star Wendy Osefo opened up about her experience with “Wife Swap: Real Housewives Edition” and explained how the show affected her family and her marriage to Eddie Osefo for the better.
Wendy’s Positive Experience with ‘Wife Swap’
“Wife Swap: Real Housewives Edition” follows a different “Real Housewife” and a “real wife” as they navigate swapping their everyday comforts and luxuries to fully immerse themselves in a vastly different familial experience. The unique journey aims to challenge everything they thought they knew about themselves and the world around them.
“It’s an experience of a lifetime,” Wendy said in an exclusive interview with Us Weekly. “It’s so interesting to see yourself through the lens of others. And it’s one of those experiences you can’t put a price tag on. I really enjoyed myself.”
Wendy is used to running her Maryland household with strict rules and a tight schedule, but this was promptly thrown out the window when she swapped lives with Alethea Shapiro, a free-spirited Floridian who runs her house with fun at the forefront and no rules.
“It was such an awesome adventure and I loved spending time with the Osefo family,” Shapiro wrote in the caption of her Instagram post prior to the episode’s airing. “The kids and I had so many laughs, I loved how her boys were the same age as my boys so that was easy peezy for me and we had some serious competitive sports games and Kamryn and I got to do some adorable bonding and craft to my heart’s content, and film some hilarious “podcast” videos for our pretend audience!”
Wendy explained how the experience changed her outlook on marriage.
“It changed the way I approached it, meaning it doesn’t always have to be one-sided being like, ‘OK, Wendy makes the role,'” Wendy said. “No, I think that Eddie’s an amazing father and amazing husband, and he’s more than capable of being able to cocreate whatever we decide, and he’s really doing that a lot.”
In August, Wendy and Eddie celebrated their 14th wedding anniversary with a tropical beach getaway.
While “Wife Swap” changed Wendy’s perspective on her marriage, it also had an impact on the way she cleans up the house.
“Vacuuming every day? Who has time for that?” Wendy continued in her interview with Us Weekly. “I’m not doing that. Those things are just like, it’s OK if it doesn’t get done today or if it doesn’t get done this week.”
Wendy also opened up about why she chooses to vacuum in heels.
“You need to know where you’ve gone over so you can know what you have to do,” she joked.

Along with Wendy, “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Melissa Gorga, “Real Housewives of Orange County” star Emily Simpson, and “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Angie Katsanevas also participated in the new series.
“I still can’t believe I did this! 😳Who in their right mind would swap wives?!” wrote Melissa in her Instagram caption.
In the comment section of Bravo’s Instagram post about the show, Angie wrote, “An incredible life changing experience❤️🙏🏼🥹.”
