On Nov. 3, Bravo released the trailer for the brand-new, rebooted season 12 of “Vanderpump Rules.” For the new season, Lisa Vanderpump decided to take it back to the beginning, when the show focused on her drama-filled employees working at her SUR restaurant in West Hollywood.
The new trailer gave fans a glimpse of the fresh-faced cast, which includes SUR’s bartenders, servers, and managers. However, a quick search of each of the new employees, fans learned that two of them aren’t new to reality TV, having starred in two popular Netflix dating shows.
VPR Season 12 Cast Includes Cousins Who Starred on Netflix
The “Vanderpump Rules” season 12 reboot is shaking things up with two new cast members who are no strangers to reality TV. When Bravo dropped the official trailer for the upcoming season, fans got their first look at Chris Hahn, a bartender for SUR, and Jason Cohen, a server. The two aren’t just coworkers, they’re cousins with a tight-knit bond.
However, fans quickly realized that these two cousins weren’t exactly new to the spotlight. Before joining the “Vanderpump Rules” cast, both Hahn and Cohen appeared on the Netflix reality dating series “Dated and Related,” where they made their TV debuts on the first season in 2022.
Netflix labeled its new spin on dating “the most awkward dating show in history” because it focused on siblings competing in challenges and helping each other find love. Each pair of sibling duos acted as wingmen or wingwomen for one another, although some competed for the same person. Luckily for Hahn and Cohen, they were the only duo that were cousins, making things less awkward.
According to an update from Netflix on the season 1 cast, neither Hahn nor Cohen walked away finding love, but the men, who hail from New Jersey, both moved to Los Angeles after the show wrapped.
Hahn Starred on ‘Perfect Match’ Season 2
After starring on “Dated and Related,” Hahn would go on to star in another Netflix dating show: “Perfect Match” season 2. The show brings together singles from other popular Netflix reality shows, including “Love is Blind” and “Temptation Island,” for another shot at love.
Hahn developed a strong friendship and later a romantic connection with Tolú Ekundare, who starred on “The Trust: A Game of Greed.” Although they made it to the very end of the show, they did not win after their castmates questioned Hahn’s true intentions, per Today.
In an interview with Tudum, Ekundare shared that her relationship with Hahn ended in Mexico. “There were ups and downs with my experience with Chris in the house,” she began. “I don’t regret it. I learned a lot about myself, what I want in a relationship, and what I will never settle for in a partner. So fortunately for me, our relationship did not go past Mexico.”
As for Hahn, he shared in a “Where Are They Now?” segment for season 2, “That was unfortunate how things kind of ended. Apparently, she heard some negative feedback from my side of things, which is kind of annoying because she really didn’t trust, you know, what I was saying about everything. She kind of just listened to everyone else.”
Fans will now get a closer look at Hahn’s life when “Vanderpump Rules” season 12 airs on Dec. 2.
Bravo’s bio for Hahn, the SUR bartender, reads: “He moved to the city with a dream of becoming an actor, but pivoted to pursue music and views SUR as a steppingstone to larger opportunities. Single and mingling, Chris is looking for a partner and a long-term commitment. When Chris and Audrey start dating, discussions of a future trip cause complications.”
As for Cohen, he works as a server for Lisa: “Aspiring actor Jason Cohen is a happy-go-lucky server who has charmed everyone at SUR. His infectious personality and good looks have won over a few of the ladies and disarmed many of the men. He works at SUR alongside his cousin Chris, and the pair have been attached at the hip since childhood. In between acting classes and shifts at SUR, Jason tries to date a new co-worker, but his attempts backfire.”
