Briones will take over the role of singer Connie Francis from “Modern Family” actress Sarah Hyland, who will give her final performance Sunday, March 29.

Emmy Award-winning “Hamilton” star Jonathan Groff will also give his final performance as Bobby Darin that day, with “Glee” actor Matthew Morrison taking over the role April 1 alongside Briones.

“Just in Time” is a jukebox musical chronicling American singer Bobby Darin’s meteoric rise from teen idol to global sensation. According to People magazine, the musical features several hit songs, including “Splish Splash,” “Dream Lover” and “Mack the Knife.”

The musical was developed and directed by Tony Award-winning “Moulin Rouge!” director Alex Timbers and has been a Broadway staple since its premiere April 23, 2025. In its short time on stage, “Just in Time” has won two Drama Desk Awards and has been nominated for six Tony Awards.

In the role of Darin’s ex-lover and collaborator Connie Francis, Briones will perform the singer’s cover of the 1923 song “Who’s Sorry Now,” which became Francis’ breakout hit in 1957.

In 1960, Francis became the first woman to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. She was also the first woman to achieve three No. 1 hits on the chart and was the most popular female vocalist in the United States from 1958 to 1964.

Though many fans know her best from “The Pitt,” Briones has been a theater performer since childhood and has been nominated for three Ovation Awards for her performances in “Evita” and “Next to Normal.”

In 2018, Briones — then 19 — became the youngest member to join the national touring company of “Hamilton.” During the tour’s yearlong run, Briones played Peggy Schuyler and Maria Reynolds and also understudied Eliza Hamilton.

In 2024, Briones made her Broadway debut as Eurydice in the Tony Award-winning musical “Hadestown,” starring opposite her father, Jon Jon Briones, who played Hermes.

Though fans of “The Pitt” may be surprised to learn about Briones’ Broadway roots, her extensive theater background suggests she is well positioned to take on the role of Connie Francis in “Just in Time.” Get your tickets now before it’s too late!
