Tom Bergeron Shows Support for Valentin Chmerkovskiy

Bergeron is beloved by “Dancing with the Stars” fans, and many are still holding out hope that he will return to the ABC dance competition in some capacity. Although he did appear as a guest judge on Season 34. On March 2, Bergeron reacted to Chmerkovskiy’s post to show support and reveal his own experience with vertigo. “Feel better soon, buddy. I had Vertigo once. It. Sucks (as you’ve unfortunately discovered),” he commented. His comment has been liked multiple times as a show of support from fans.

But what is vertigo? WebMD describes it as a “sensation of feeling off balance. If you have these dizzy spells, you might feel like you are spinning or that the world around you is spinning.” The publication also reveals that an inner ear problem is often the cause of vertigo and that there are two main types: peripheral and central.

Bergeron did not share more about his experience with vertigo, likely because he did not want to detract from Chmerkovskiy when he is feeling unwell. Chmerkovskiy has been flooded with comments from fans and celebrities who have shown him love. Many have also shared how awful having vertigo is.

“I had horrible vertigo for weeks going into DWTS and Derek spinning me in the air fixed it! The force puts the ear crystals that get loose back into place!,” Amy Purdy, who competed on DWTS Season 18, wrote. “Spinning probably kicked them out of place but then spinning actually puts them back into place as well. That what they do in therapy. Sending you so much love vertigo is the worst. Hope you feel better soon.”

Former pro Sharna Burgess also appeared to hint that she herself experienced vertigo. She wrote, “Vertigo is awful, I’m so sorry, babe. Feel better soon xx.”
