In fact, according to Broadway World, her initial run on the play has officially broken an all-time record for the legendary show.

Whitney Leavitt’s performance as Roxie in “Chicago” has been racking up big numbers in ticket sales.
According to Broadway World, the “Dancing With the Stars” alum’s time on Broadway has the highest-grossing six-week span in the show’s 29-year history.
At the end of March 15, 2026, “Chicago” had grossed $1,457,930.77 for the week. That number beats the musical’s record of $1,452,008.50 from back in December 2023.
“Screaming!!!! Crying!!!!! Wouldn’t have been able to do it without you guys!” Leavitt wrote about the news on her Instagram Stories (per PEOPLE).
Leavitt’s initial run was from February 8 to March 15, 2026. With her as the lead, “Chicago” on Broadway has grossed $8,049,526.31.
This is a big win for Leavitt, whose final show was supposed to be March 15. However, because of popular demand, she has extended her run as Roxie Hart, starting March 23 through May 3, 2026, according to PEOPLE.

While Leavitt hasn’t confirmed she’s leaving, it is certainly a thought as she navigates new goals.
“I’m figuring it out in real time,” Whitney told The Hollywood Reporter in March 2026. “We’re figuring it out together, but it feels like that’s the trajectory of where it’s going.”
She added, “I wouldn’t be where I am without [the show], but it feels like it’s time to challenge myself in other ways and fulfill these dreams and passions that I’ve been trying to get even before the show.”
For the “DWTS” star, she believes that acting is her next step. Her role as Roxie Hart in “Chicago” only proved it.
“This is just the beginning. It feels like this is just the beginning of something that I’ve wanted to do, and I’ve been trying to do for years,” she added. “I couldn’t be more grateful. I feel like I’m just now on the ladder, and I’m just going to slowly start climbing it.”
