“The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star and “Dancing With the Stars” contestant Whitney Leavitt is saying goodbye to Broadway, for now. The reality star, who stepped into the shoes of Roxie Hart in “Chicago,” will have her last and final performance on May 3.
Leavitt made her “Chicago” debut on February 2, with an initial run scheduled through March 15. However, due to overwhelming demand and record-breaking box office success, her engagement was extended. To add to fans’ delight, she was later joined on stage by her former DWTS pro partner Mark Ballas, who appeared alongside her for a special four-week run leading up to her final performance.
Whitney Leavitt Marks the End of Her ‘Chicago’ Era With Farewell Post
Whitney Leavitt is wrapping up her amazing run on “Chicago” with her last performance on May 3. But before taking her final bow, she shared a playful TikTok with fans, humorously marking the moment she says goodbye to Roxie Hart and hangs up her dancing shoes.
With Hannah Montana’s “I’ll Always Remember You” playing in the background, Leavitt is seen in an empty Ambassador Theatre in New York City, where she takes a trip down memory lane of all the places she’ll remember most — though not quite in the sentimental way fans may expect.
“Saying goodbye to the Ambassador Threate… To the ladder I’d climb hoping no one could look up my dress…” she jokes.
She’s then seen in the green room, as her caption says, “To the couch we’d spill tea on… I mean drink tea…”
“Goodbye to the stairs I’d always fall down…This part of the stage where I got to yell at Mark Ballas,” she continued.
“To these seats being filled every night… to the one time I farted here & pretended like I didn’t,” she jokes while lying across a piano.
Leavitt ends the funny montage, reflecting on her time at the theatre: “Goodbye ‘Chicago’ thank you for everything,” she says, ending the video onstage with a final farewell kiss.
Sharing the same video on Instagram, Leavitt paired the clip with a heartfelt caption marking the end of her “Chicago” run.
“closing night is tomorrow & I’m just feeling a roller coaster of emotions right now 😭 never let anyone convince you your dream is impossible. Do the work to make it happen ✨I love you guys sm! Thank you for everything!!!! xx- Roxie Hart 💋✨,” she shared.
In the comment section, Leavitt received a ton of love and support, including from her SLOMW co-stars. “What a ride! one door closes another opens 🥹💕 can’t wait to see what’s next! So proud bb!!” Demi Engemann shared. “So proud of you angel!!! You did it!!!” Layla Taylor wrote.
Leavitt’s Husband, Conner Leavitt, Is Making His Broadway Debut
The Leavitt family moved to New York City so that Whitney could pursue her Broadway dreams, but the family is staying for a bit longer after it was announced that Conner Leavitt was making his Broadway debut.
According to People, Conner is set to star in the off-Broadway show “11 to Midnight,” with his limited three-week run beginning May 8 and ending May 27. Conner will join the cast alongside “Glee” star Heather Morris and “Dance Moms” star Nia Sioux.
Conner told People that he was inspired by his wife to take this huge career leap into Broadway, sharing that she is a “continuous inspiration to follow your dreams.” He added that her own “experience onstage really helped me find a love and appreciation for the theater.”
Conner shared the exciting news on Instagram, with Whitney stating in the comment section, “AHHHHHH!!!!!!!! I can’t wait!!!!!!!”
Fans can likely expect Whitney to be Conner’s biggest supporter, just as he has been throughout her own standout run on “Chicago.”
