Mark Ballas Makes a Fun Pitch to Another Hit Broadway Show Following His ‘Chicago’ Run

Dancing With the Stars” fans went wild when Mark Ballas announced he would join the cast of “Chicago” on Broadway. He stepped into the role of Billy Flynn, opposite his DWTS season 34 partner, Whitney Leavitt, playing Roxie Hart.

The two will take their final bows on May 3. However, the pair are far from done performing.

In fact, Mark Ballas recently made a pitch for him to star in another show in the Big Apple.

Mark Ballas Wants to Star in ‘Hamilton’ Next

It’s no secret that Mark Ballas is a massive “Hamilton” fan. He has repeatedly created hilarious social media content in which he wears a costume from the show and performs. During Disney Week in DWTS season 34, he and Whitney Leavitt even performed an iconic foxtrot to “The Room Where It Happens” from the musical.

Now that his run in “Chicago” is over, he’s looking forward to his next big adventure. It seems that playing Alexander Hamilton has been on his to-do list for quite some time.

“Who would come see me in @hamiltonmusical ? 🤭” the professional dancer joked in an Instagram post. In the video, he raps Alexander Hamilton’s part in “Cabinet Battle #1” where the character shuts down Thomas Jefferson’s government plans.

“Hey Hamilton this is just a friendly reminder that I am free as of May 4th,” Ballas wrote over the video, adding a sly emoji. He joked in the comments that fans could sign a petition.

In the comments, fans readily agreed. Fans flocked to see Mark Ballas and Whitney Leavitt star in “Chicago” over the past few weeks. They’d show up in droves to see him star in “Hamilton” too.

“I don’t want to see this …………. I must see this,” DWTS judge Derek Hough wrote in the comments.

“Ayyyyeeeeeeeeeee,” Whitney Leavitt replied. Her husband Conner simply quipped, “Get him in.”

Ballas certainly has connections in the musical theater world. It might just be a matter of time until fans see him take the stage at the Richard Rodgers Theater.

The Performer Moves Forward With ‘Dancing With the Stars’

So far, Mark Ballas hasn’t said whether or not he wants to compete on “Dancing With the Stars” this year. However, he will certainly return in one way.

Mark Ballas and his mother, ballroom legend Shirley Ballas, will judge the show’s spin-off, “Dancing With the Stars: The Next Pro.” The series follows several aspiring dancers as they compete for a spot in season 35.

Shirley Ballas previously shared on Instagram that she couldn’t be prouder to judge alongside her son.

“The news finally is out, we’re finding The Next Pro for @dancingwiththestars ❤️ … and a dream of mine to judge alongside my son @markballas has finally come true,” the “Strictly Come Dancing” head judge wrote.

Time will tell if Mark decides to rejoin the competition this fall. But until then, he has his eyes fixed on Broadway stardom.

Shirley and Mark Ballas star in “Dancing With the Stars: The Next Pro,” debuting on ABC on Monday, July 12, 2026. “Dancing With the Stars” season 35 will premiere on the network sometime this fall.
