Shirley Ballas Gushes Over the Chance to Work Alongside Her Son
As “Dancing With the Stars” moves towards its 35th season this fall, some changes are in order. The cast of pro dancers changes from year to year. While many familiar faces will return in September, there will be at least one new face too.
Iconic mother-son duo Mark and Shirley Ballas will judge the competition as hopeful dancers aspire to be the next pro on the series. The “Strictly Come Dancing” judge excitedly described the new show on social media.
“The news finally is out, we’re finding The Next Pro for @dancingwiththestars ❤️ … and a dream of mine to judge alongside my son @markballas has finally come true,” Shirley Ballas shared in a touching Instagram post.
“I cannot wait for you all to witness what’s in store. Get ready for a show like you’ve never seen before. The ballroom doesn’t know what’s coming. See you July 13th on @abc and next day on @hulu x” the continued.

Ezra Sosa’s Older Sister Stephani Competes For the Role
Many young, talented dancers are excited to impress the Ballases and showcase their talent. Ezra Sosa is a current pro on DWTS and his older sister Stephani would love to join him.
On social media, the 26-year-old confirmed she was competing for a spot as the next pro.
“Secret it OUT!!!” Stephani posted on Instagram, tagging the official DWTS account. “When they finally announce the Next Pro Dancer show,” she wrote over the video as she excitedly danced around the room.
Stephani Sosa previously appeared as a troupe member in DWTS season 33. She was let go from the troupe ahead of season 34, while Ezra Sosa returned as a pro.
“Dancing With the Stars” fans can’t wait to see what the hopeful young dancers bring to the table. Better yet, viewers can’t wait to hear what Mark and Shirley Ballas have to say about the competitors.
