Ford teased his latest project and thanked fans for joining him on so many adventures with the beloved character in a video message.
“Hello, D23. Thanks for coming along on all of Indy’s adventures,” Ford said in the clip. “Soon it will be time for his next ride, and I’m pleased to share that for the first time ever, I’m the actual model of the Indiana Jones animatronic, fear of snakes included.”

‘Indiana Jones’ Attraction Storyline Revealed
GettyImagineers Michael Hundgen and Chris Beatty also shared first details about the ride’s cultural inspiration, new storyline, and the experience guests will have once they enter the temple.
The project team also emphasized its commitment to authentic storytelling, collaborating with archaeologists, anthropologists, and Maya experts to ensure the attraction accurately represents the region.
“You’ll rendezvous with Dr. Jones, who is in the midst of exploring this mysterious temple near a once water-filled underground cave, called a cenote. Local legend says the passageway leads directly to the Maya Underworld and is protected by a serpentine creature: the Tsukán,” according to Disney Parks Blog.
“The adventure takes off when riders are unwittingly sucked through a portal to the Underworld, where they’ll have to escape perilous dangers, like monstrous bats, larger-than-life scorpions, fire and flame, and of course, snakes.”
Ford first appeared as Indy in “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” later renamed “Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark” in 1981. He reprised his role for “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom” in 1984 and “Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade” in 1989.
In 2008, Ford starred in “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull,” and took one final adventure in “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” in 2023.
