Hayden Christensen is a doting father. The 45-year-old actor revealed how he chooses to spend time with his daughter. Christensen was at the 2026 Disney D23 event, where he gave insight into his bond with 11-year-old Briar Rose. He shares custody of her with former partner Rachel Bilson.
Christensen has rarely spoken publicly about his daughter. Briar Rose was born during his decade-long relationship with Bilson. The “Jumper” co-stars were together from 2007 to 2017.

At D23, Hayden Christensen talked about his favorite current films and TV shows. The actor revealed his current watchlist comprises whatever his daughter likes. He also emphasized that he “loves” watching them himself because of the time he gets to share with her.
“I have a young daughter, and I love watching shows with her,” Christensen said in response to the question from MTV UK. “Her favorite ones right now are “Liv and Maddie” and “Henry Danger,” so I enjoy getting to watch those with her.”
Christensen did admit he watches different shows when he’s by himself. According to the “Star Wars” actor, his current preferred series is “The Agency.” The Paramount+ spy thriller stars Michael Fassbender and an ensemble cast of A-listers.
While he might not be their target age range, Christensen’s enthusiasm for his daughter’s preferred shows is completely genuine. The actor’s bond with Briar Rose is well-known. Fans saw them at a Chicago Cubs game in August 2025. The father-daughter duo sang a duet of “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” at the event. Christensen was accompanied by Briar Rose as he threw the ceremonial first pitch before the game.

In an appearance on the “Let’s Be Honest” podcast, Bilson provided details about her arrangement with Christensen over co-parenting duties.
“Ours is, like, a unique version of it. We do a lot of stuff together — a lot,” Bilson said on the podcast. “We have been able to keep it very copacetic and nice for [Briar]. We weren’t ever married, so we…figured out our own way.”
The “Hart of Dixie” star said her advice for co-parents would be “communication” and to “compromise a lot” to make it work. She also voiced appreciation for his family and the positive dynamic that first began 19 years ago.
