The six remaining chefs on “America’s Culinary Cup” will have to keep it consistent tonight, as Padma Lakshmi is putting these chefs to the test. They will continue working on the 10 Culinary Commandments. The next one: consistency! Watch with us tonight during our “America’s Culinary Cup” 2026 live recap and see who got eliminated on “America’s Culinary Cup” tonight with us.
Consistency Is Key on ‘America’s Culinary Cup’
The judges were not prepared for what the seven chefs were about to do during last week’s challenge. The Culinary Commandment was science and tech. These remaining chefs had to showcase different molecular gastronomy techniques. They had five hours to create as many dishes as they could, with each technique they used in each dish adding more points. The chef with the most points after five hours won the challenge. The chef with the lowest score was eliminated.
It was shocking results, as Beverly’s fellow chefs voted last week that she would be the most likely to win this season. Then one week later, she was sent home for having the lowest score. Now, the chefs will be tested on consistency tonight. The fight to be named the winner of “America’s Culinary Cup” season 1 continues tonight, but who got eliminated on “America’s Culinary Cup” tonight? Find out with our Live Recap below!

Week 8 Begins
The Top 6 arrive, and Buddha is feeling good heading into this with an advantage. The judges arrive, and for the seventh Culinary Commandment, it’s all about consistency. Padma said to be a great chef, it’s about making the same great dish on a consistent basis. To do this, they will have to make 30 of the exact same dish. They will have to use one of the following cooking methods: Grilling, Poaching, or Searing. They will be working with fish. The chefs will be working in teams of two.
For winning the last challenge, Buddha gets to pick his teammate and the cooking method they’ll use. Then he also gets to pick the other teams and the cooking method they will use. Here are his decisions:
- Buddha & Matt – Poaching
- Katie & Cara – Grilling
- Chris & Keith – Searing
Each team will have 2 1/2 hours to make 30 identical and consistent dishes. The team with the highest score will be safe. The other two, she can’t say the same. The chefs discuss the dishes they want to make, then it’s time to head to the pantry and get started.
Cooking Time
The chefs have started creating their dishes. Matt is butchering the fish, so each cut has to be consistent. All of the chefs are butchering the fish, as the other chef is working on brine and other parts of the dish. We have Buddha & Matt working with halibut, Cara & Katie working with trout, and Keith & Chris working with black bass.
Cara & Katie have to pinbone their fish, which trout have a ton of. It’s annoying, but they said it’s part of being consistent. Keith seems to be struggling with butchering his fish.
Chris has a point, but if they can beat Matt & Buddha on this one, then it could be an opportunity to send one of them home. Matt and Buddha have a lot of aspects to their dish. The judges say Buddha and Matt always have all the bells and whistles for their dishes, but it’s not always needed. Buddha is making something for their dish that he’s never made before.
Buddha was worried, but it wasn’t needed. He nailed it, so the first time making this part of the dish was fine. Kaite made extra portions of their fish, just in case any don’t work out. The time is running out, and the chefs are plating. Matt & Buddha are calm and keeping it together, but the others feel rushed. However, they all seem to have gotten it done.
Tasting & Results
The plates are complete, and it’s time for the judges on “America’s Culinary Cup” to taste these dishes:
- Katie & Cara – Wylie said they did a great job getting it crispy. Michael said some of the fish got overcooked, but the thicker pieces were beautifully cooked. The garnishments and vegetables are as great as the fish.
- Chris & Keith – Padma said the sauce is delicious. Michael said the sauce is the best sauce he’s tried today. Michael said the fish was cooked beautifully, but then they found bones in the fish! Padma said the cut of the fish isn’t consistent either.
- Buddha & Matt – Padma said it’s a very sophisticated dish. It’s very tasty. Wylie said well done, and very consistent. Padma said the temperature is consistent. The judges seemed to love this dish. Padma said it shows off all of their technical prowess.
Results: The judges score the dishes, and the results are in:
- Buddha & Matt – 57 points
- Cara & Katie – 48 points
- Chris & Keith – 35 points
For winning, Buddha and Matt are safe and will be moving on to the next commandment. The other four chefs will now be battling it out in a cook-off.
Elimination Cook-Off
The other four chefs will now have 10 minutes to make a perfect French omelette. It’s about being consistent and making this perfect, but in only 10 minutes.
The chefs are struggling, especially since this is so quick. A French omelette can have no brown on it, so Keith needs to redo one of his. Then Chris can’t get his burners in the right spot, so he is burning his omelettes. The 10 minutes run out very quickly, but they all get something on a plate.
Results: They present their omelettes to the judges. It looks like Katie had the most consistent omelette. Cara was right up there, too. Both Keith and Chris have brown omlettes. The judges voted, and Keith was eliminated tonight.
