Food Network Renews Hit Culinary Competition for Season 3, Plus 2 More Shows Return This Month

Food Network is giving fans more reasons to tune in this month. The network has renewed one of its hit culinary competitions for a third season, while two more popular shows are set to return with fresh episodes in September. Here’s what fans can look forward to in the coming weeks.

‘Harry Potter: Wizards Of Baking’  (Renewed for Season 3)

Food Network has officially renewed “Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking” for a third season. The good news comes just in time for the 25th anniversary of “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.”

“This year is especially exciting as fans celebrate the 25th anniversary of the first film,” Betsy Ayala, President, Food Network, said in a statement (via Deadline).

Season 3 comes with a sizeable budget cut, resulting in production moving from the UK to Canada, per the outlet.

James and Oliver Phelps, who played Fred and George Weasley in the movies, are set to return as hosts. In Season 3, “Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking” features a tournament-style team format, with bakers divided into teams representing the four Hogwarts houses: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin.

“Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking has struck a chord with viewers by bringing extraordinary culinary craftsmanship to one of the world’s most beloved franchises,” Ayala continued. “Together with Warner Horizon Unscripted Television and teams across Warner Bros. Discovery, we’re excited to build on that momentum in Season 3 with ambitious new creations, iconic locations and enchanting surprises.”

Last year, the Phelps brothers recalled some sweet moments of fans sharing their experiences watching the last season of “Harry Potter: Wizards Of Baking.”

“They would either straight up or the day after, they would cook or they would bake as a family,” James told PEOPLE. “We were in Denver earlier in the year, and a lady was saying that her and her kids would bake together because it was a time when no one was on their phone.”

‘Halloween Wars’ Season 16

Food Network is also bringing Season 16 of “Halloween Wars.” The hit cooking reality series kicks off its “Back from the Dead” season on Sunday, September 13 at 9/8c.

Fans can expect a two-hour premiere featuring returning all-star pumpkin carvers, cake artists and sugar masters, with some hoping to defend their titles and others seeking redemption.

This year, host Jonathan Bennett will be joined by judges Shinmin Li and Andrew Fuller, who will evaluate each team’s spectacular creations throughout the competition, with the winning team taking home a $30,000 prize.

‘Halloween Baking Championship’ Season 12

Also returning this month is “Halloween Baking Championship” for its 12th season. The two-hour premiere is set to air on Monday, September 14 at 9/8c.

This year, the competition takes place in the grand foyer of the Museum of Unnatural History, where eerie collections such as Possessed Pests, Demon Masks and the Vault of Bones await around every corner.

Curator and host John will be joined by judges Stephanie Boswell, Aarti Sequeira and Zac Young. 10 bakers will compete for the title and a $25,000 prize.
